Kids these days are so good at art because suddenly we’ve had all these incredible artists to model after. Before the internet, people didn’t have the chance to see the process of learning how to draw unless they got lucky. And now because of videos like yours, I and many others now understand how to practice the things we love. So thanks Sam! You’re pretty awesome
@aynDRAWS3 ай бұрын
I would say that's probably true. I've been drawing for years, but I've only really improved over the past two years because I have artists giving tips and drawing challenges to improve.

4:20 alr, a lot of people use this tip to make your shadows purple but most of the time you should just make the shadow the opposite color of the lighting on the color wheel. But also, if your using a warm lighting source (Red, yellow, orange) you should make the shadows cold (Purple, Blue, Green) soooo idk I’m nerd dumping.

Super specific, but ProkoTV is great! Very professional video/editing work, good art tips, a helpful community (at least in his comments), and he's made quite a few videos platforming other great artists like Glen Vilppu & Marco Bucci too! I have no doubt this comment will be lost into the void, but to anyone who finds it, Proko is a must watch for any aspiring/working artist!

Love your videos so much! I've been drawing since I was a kid and got more serious as a teen but didn't know if I should pursue it as my career, after going to Uni and changing degrees twice I found myself going back to art. Now that I had decided I wanted to become some kind of artist I then spent two-ish years exploring various mediums and exploring. After I found my preferences and had my fun I needed to buckle down and focus, but I was pretty lost on what to work, so I found myself burnout after a few months and basically pick it up again after 4-5 months of doing nothing. Then it was the start of 2023 and I was getting ready to set new year goals and ponder my lack of direction in my art endeavors. SOOOO I decided to procrastinate and proceeded to read a bunch of webtoons and manga then felt guilty, so I thought I'd watch some art KZbinrs to see if I could be inspired. I came across one of your older videos (I think) where you talked about setting goals on improving particulate areas you'd like to see doing better in and if art was a career to set career goals. After watching that video it really made me think about what I was doing with my life and my art and where I would like it to go. After a few hours of thinking and a shower, I decided. I wanted to be an illustrator and graphic novelist. I then wrote out my plan and worked out what needed work and what needed to be learned. Then proceeded to find books that could teach me for now, but I plan to attend classes eventually. I've watched many videos about the same thing but you just said it in such a way that spoke to me and gave me that drive to properly set out my plan and work on it. Obviously, the work is up to me now and whether I succeed relies on my conviction. Butttttt you got the brain rolling with that sage advice and wisdom so thank you, Sam. ^_^

I actually quit my full time art to study a professional course few months ago, because I was kinda stressed as I wasn't getting any better in art and I have no time to wait to have a good job....and guess what, i draw when i get time on weekends but they all turns out to be best and better from what I've done in months ago.. and i realised that now I'm using art as to relieve stress and I'm loving doing it.... I always wish to come back home find some time to finally draw something. Earlier it was something making me stressed , i was entirely focused on making it best and better than enjoying and loving it.😭
