Thanks again for doing this competition and giving a such a detailed breakdown on all the formulas. I am happy to see that you liked my “Rose of the woods” submission but curious to see what you would have done differently to make it lean more into a unisex territory . This was my original idea to make a unisex rose perfume but I think all the sweet materials took over. 😂

Thank you for the entry, it was great! In terms of improvements, my biggest criticism is probably that the basenote seemed slightly too sweet - maybe you could look to make it a little less sweet. In terms of more masculine, maybe you could try different woody notes until you find something that harmonises well. This would also add to the complexity and uniqueness of the overall smell. Otherwise though, I think the formula is an excellent base to try to pull in different directions!

Hi sam, i am currently trying to make a 100% natural and organic perfume. Whats the best alcohol for this?
@sammacer
@sammacer 2 жыл бұрын
I’ve never tried to do that; you should search for cosmetic grade ethanol which fits those specifications

Hello , how to remove the smell of alcohol ? Its overpowering other raw materials poured into it
@peewee678
@peewee678 2 жыл бұрын
If you apply the fragrance (to your skin or a scent strip) the alcohol will simply evaporate within a few minutes. Don't smell from a bottle; that way you will always keep smelling the alcohol.

Do we need to add Distilled water as mentioned in designer fragrance ? And how much
@sammacer
@sammacer 2 жыл бұрын
You need to wait for it to evaporate: otherwise you made the fragrance too weak. No distilled water is needed
@JayMannStuff
@JayMannStuff 2 жыл бұрын
@@sammacer I've heard good things about adding 2% distilled water by weight for the finished formula. I haven't tried it myself. Not sure if it would impact the alcohol smell. My recommendation here is to use a higher quality solvent. I use 200 proof food-grade alcohol instead of perfumer's alcohol. No off-notes of any kind.
