Ok, This song is about the book "The Plague", Which I haven't read but I have heard of, From what I know it's about a city and one day suddenly a ton of rats come out and die of the bubonic plague. Most of the story is about the effects of the Bubonic plague on the city it showed itself in.
@sickawesome46596 ай бұрын
I know It's WAY too late to add an addendum to a 4 year old post, but the book's about human conflict and the nature of fighting against suffering. It's about the ways people fight against tragedy or suffering, and how the only way humanity can truly win against disasters is by confronting them.

[Here are the lyrics just in case you want them to sing along with the song] The flowers helped to smell like spellings of spring, An iris to gray iris in the town, gaining speed Delude and claim you can’t sleep without stir, They’ll scan you with a glass eye to confirm your every word In ties and binds, eye-line tugging to a tee Those downcast drops dropped on locks of secrecy Our feature presentation gladly welcomes your ears, Eyes shut with seeds so you don’t need to lose them through tears A News Stop piece deems someone guilty, Although they quote no ogre to remain PC That read I slammed and stamped with pastimes, The time past for a punch line Ambiguous speakers, no stand-back to feature? Then who will sweep the leftover ash as leader, Flashed and flared and later? Hey, you sure the feelings we burned Show a show, classic, this shouldered cast should act by? When I tried overturning the first title the rats, at last, had died Here we reside, the right timeline, The context and content best of their kind Shunning the illness for the outbreak it caused, I stained my hands stealing the doleful folks’ trust That lying profit/phet was the way that we grew, Chewing up junk food just to cover the truth And yes, the voices sure God was dead, They left one day, have paid no visits since then The drunkards sick of swigging self-love, They fail at falling forward in pinch mania An upper hook that books your breath tight, And ever-leaking pipeline Best schemes conspired, gone ghetto, the road winds in dirt Right, left, think you can handle both the handles? Either Leave or please try to mind each, super driver Say, ain’t it a thesis? A common thought with closed eyes? Skipping some sixty min. stalemate, up ahead I sensed the rats, at last, had died Ambiguous speakers, no stand-back to feature? Then who will sweep the leftover ash as leader, Flashed and flared and later? Hey, you sure the feelings we burned Show a show, classic, this shouldered cast should act by? Spons’ring some pond’ring stalemate, up ahead I sensed the rats, at last, had died Free speech finally comes to life as Cats and frogs high leave the benches for an “All now rise!” Unaware of every nook and cranny squarely set they’re handin’ candid Rats, hoping to maintain some semblance of pride They name plain ways, lined up while the votes are flowing in, And lie like it’s no sin Burglar cat lappin’ facts up like a cat burglar, Do you also know me better than I know my face? (Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey) (La la la la la…) “One split dream and we’ll make you bleed if you’re caught”, they said, So I went ahead and blamed it on you instead! (Ha-ha!) Ambiguous speakers, no stand-back to feature? Then who will sweep the leftover ash as leader, Flashed and flared and later? Hey, you sure the feelings we burned Show a show, classic, this shouldered cast should act by? When I tried overturning the first title the rats, at last, had died Freedom with no sure aim or slummed in sludge, but no pure waste? Hobbies halt, still, when you give them a name, so does their Merit live out of focus in the first place? ‘Cause that Key place is the key we keep, with one sheet stammering farther inside So lashing out with all those doubts cast aside, we democrats, at last, had died At that time, we saw a bright cold sky… (La la la la la…)

I thought the song was ironic in that the spread of democracy is like a plague infection. So I discussed some of the passages that caught my attention. 1:41 The literal translation in Japanese is "I called in an epidemic, I took advantage of depression and dirtied my hands." The former took advantage of citizens who were tired of authoritarian regimes, etc., and spread an epidemic (democracy) among them, The person who created the epidemic abused the system and profited from it. 1:48 The literal translation in Japanese is "Thus we were enriched, we swallowed the lie with junk food." After some years, the assets of some who profited from democracy were enriched, The abuse was covered up with easy, cheap junk food (democracy). (Maybe this is where I mention the McDonaldization of George Ritzer.) 1:55 The literal translation in Japanese is, "The voices of fear that God is dead have ceased to cry out." "God is dead" is Nietzsche's critique of the existing moral spirit of the late 19th century, No one is left to raise issues as Nietzsche did, and no one is left to worry about democracy. In other words, the rats (democrats) who no longer think about the shortcomings of the democratic system and have given up questioning it, died.

Ok, i gotta say, most of the time when i listen to a cover of a song, i usually refer to the first time i heard it for the first time, and for this one, it was a male cover. Things is i usually prefer voices that are close to what i heard originally, but your cover is something else. Despite being a female cover, your tone actually sound perfect, you truly nailed the boredom that the lyrics transcribe and i honestly think it's fantastic 'cuz you didn't tried to go over the top by adding high pitch notes that you expect from a female cover, and it's really pleasent to the hears, almost soothing. So yeah, a grand bravo !

Probably late to the party here, but can we just admire the fact the song teaches people about the subject matter? Specifically the music video anyways?

I don't understand the presence of this cyclope girl when Tarou (argh, can't remember how to spell it...) isn't even present! That is surprising, knowing how important he is in the novel... Still, I love all the references of the clip (not me crying over the image of the judge's son dying behind him... The best and saddest part of the novel), and the lyrics are great too! I'll try to analyze the lyrics one say, to give your work the tribute it deserves!
