DIY Gothic/Alt/Punk Purse Customization

To anyone who might customize a bag or purse ,or whatever. If the fabric is too thick I would recommend using a smaller needle to sewn something on it, the needle will push through the fabric easier and make it easier for you to sewn everything on. Hope you all have fun customizing your purse or whatever else you might be customizing and hope this helps someone out!

I had an ETS purse that I found at a yard sale for $5. I didn’t use it much but it was a bag I would NEVER get rid of and I accidentally donated it to goodwill. I was CRUSHED and since it’s “vintage” it was going for $$$$ on resale sites. I caved and bought the one from Dollskill but I think I like yours better ♥️

The principles are essentially the same ! Just add patches, spikes, safety pins, whatever u want wherever you like! When I make these videos it’s not really to encourage people to make the exact same thing, rather to hopefully be inspired to make something similar (like using the same principles to customize a different type of bag) :-) hope you can make the backpack of your dreams!

Unfortunately fabric glue and felt do not mix very well, trust me 🤣

Really? I’ve made multiple felt patches using fabric glue + needle and thread and I haven’t had any problems (yet)! What kind of issues did you run into?

I guess it's the materials I'm using but felt to felt is the worst. The glue sinks into both pieces and makes them hard and shiny if I use a lot of glue. And if I use a little bit it just doesn't doesn't stick at all. I've been trying to make creepy cute patches similar to Lolle on insta and needle and thread is the only way I've found that works. Maybe the felt I use is too cheap but it also won't iron without burning and turning brown/crackly.
