He's 100% right! I walk through my property and my first album became my album cover artwork bc of the vibe and the dark, woody, and "moist" environment makes the perfect inspiration for black metal vibes

I was surprised they didn't talk about his podcast. It's one of my favourites. He's good at finding some extra information on the scene and its history that's new even after all this time. And, he gets people to (often reluctantly) talk about Varg.

Thomas is a great guy, everyone should check his youtube channel as well because it has a lot of interviews with a lot of people from the scene like Fenriz, Nocturno Culto, Gaahl, Vicotnik, Snorre Ruch, etc.

This is prob the most enjoyable interview I ve watched of yours. No cringy elitist occult b@llSh#t, no edgy politics or try-hard darkness, just a humble guy that enjoys the wider range of music whilst having (as it seems) some true profound elements on his work. I didn't know the band to be honest but I ll def check the discography.
@RautaMetal2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I don't feel that most of my interviews are cringy elitist occult bs / edgy politics etc. but then again... I am thinking beyond my BM ones (death metal, heavy metal, symphonic metal etc.).
@geompon65052 жыл бұрын
@@RautaMetal it's true, they are def not-don't get me wrong. I was praising the guy in comparison to the black metal musicians in general (not only the ones you ve interviewed). From those whom I ve seen in your channel, I can only mention the Aevangelist guy who felt kinda cringy-though he certainly had a very calm (and almost seductive I may say) manner of bringin up some of the more ritualistic elements of bm. On the elitist side I can only remember Angelslayer when he had a kinda "gatekeeper" mentality in terms of bm themes (but on this case as well, he is one of the living legends-and one of my personal favorites- so he might be entitled to some elitist behaviour )
@RautaMetal2 жыл бұрын
Aye, I hear you. It is often like that in bm. Been at leat since the days of Euronymous. Part of the charm in the genre. But also very stupid. It all depends on the angle and the ways it's presented. Angelslayer for sure is a cool guy.
@davidblair38452 жыл бұрын
I personally think dude keeps the old feel alive lol....some of it is boring as with 99.9% of modern BM

The dawn of the new Norwegian black metal?voi lordi, voi voi lordi 🤦♂️ Their music is good and they're good live, so what's the problem? In all things the important thing is purity, attitude, mentality and communicating something that comes from within, Mork they have none of this! They have no anger inside, they have nothing to communicate, they are the mirror of current Norway like Fenriz, Nocturno, Satyr etc, Norway no longer has anything black metal, they still live from that myth of 30 years ago... and then there is Finland (fortunately)... with a culture and a black metal scene that still maintains its purity, mentality, honesty, with characters who still live in an extreme way and have chosen to live in that extreme way, everything black metal that comes out of Finland is extremely valid and coherent... But you don't need to go very far, just watch this video to see the difference between a Finn and a Norwegian... Rauta is old school and retains the mentality of the best times and has not lost the true concept, today it is enough to hear Rauta speak than ridiculous characters like nocturno teddy ken culto and clown fenriz and rock star satyr and nerd ihsahn and all their recent pathetic records ... About mork? I'm really scared and I think I won't sleep tonight, I'm terrified, I will hug my culto teddy bear, he will defend me with his sweetness... Mika luttinen is so fucking right : "nowaday what is going on with this fucking world?!?!?!" oikesti, vittu mita paska!?!?!?!?!?!
