That rav is probably a really great Overlander it's a hybrid with a motor on the front and back axle so instant torque and no clutch no auto box to get hot and I'll tell you there not slow. I don't own one I've just driven them and was surprised

I own a 1999 4Runner and a 2019 Rav4. The RAV is a very capable vehicle in its own right. It wont rock crawl but it will bomb down a forest road with ease. LP Aventure lift and 31 inch tires really get it out there.

@@RathynaGomer trust me putting a lot of big things on your roof is going to kill your fuel economy and make it want to flip going off road, just take a 2 person tent, and a 9mm in case you’re attacked by mountain lions

I loved driving my truck to the top of the mountains behind the track and watching all the racing for decades now. Hopefully I can get my truck project done someday that I have been working on for years and will be able to get to the top of those mountains again someday. Smh. Sucks being older and disabled. Anyway stay focused and have a blast.

That 20k mile oil is insane lol id only trust it on this little NA engine to last that long.. but if youre doing dirt trails and dusty roads you probable just change it at 5k :O

It was always golden and cLean In color even when I went 13k once between changes. Idk if color has anything to do with it but my 2019 Mazda 6 is dirty looking after only a month! What’s the difference there?

@@kingavegarage8722 haha I’m what I refer to as “drift rich.” Got lots of cars but not tons of cash 😆 not complaining at all, I felt so incredibly blessed even before this opportunity and it’s crazy to think I was selected and given such a wonderful gift. A lot of the “things” I have I was able to purchase when I was younger and living with my parents without many financial obligations. After buying a home two years ago, that all changed and the mortgage and bills took away the fun money. Again, nothing I am upset about...that’s life and transitions and growing up. But the transition meant the cars, the garage projects, etc was put to the wayside. I didn’t “need” any of this, but it was such a special gift because it truly did give me the opportunity to start chasing after my dreams again. And for that I’m grateful 🙏

ive been over landing a rav4 for years it has two lift kits on it and i did black gap in big bend national park the only jeep rated trail in taxes took 8 hours

Thats the wrong oil for the rav4. RAV4 has a A25A engine and requires 0w16 and not 0w20. 0w20 can be put if someone is at a pinch, needs to be replaced with 0w16

Off-road...not on pavement. The new rav4 system is quite capable to handle most things the type of buyer would throw at it with just a tire upgrade alone. Overlanding doesn't always consist of rock crawling and going through 3ft of mud. "Off road worthy" also means 10 mpg. Different tools, different jobs. Not everyone needs a monster truck and most jeeps/trucks/SUVs don't ever end up seeing a speck of dirt road...

It’s more for “soft roading”. My fiancé has a Tacoma that we use for actual off-roading. I wanted to make my daily something great for long distance road trips, and could take out into nature for camping without having to worry about getting stuck 😊
