Another lovely, world-class music-making from a "youth" orchestra, that (so-called first-world) cities with twenty times the population of Slovenia, etc, can't begin to rival. Its very frustrating that The SF Bay area struggles to maintain one barely-comparable symphony orchestra, despite the highest concentration of wealth in the world. Thank goodness for YT!!

Lovely, gorgeous, beautiful! It is beyond words! When the camera zoomed on their young faces while they were seriously playing out the great music,I was in tears because a lot of brutal war scenes went through my mind at the same time! Why are people on Earth hate each others so much that they kill each others in wars when they do something as beautiful as making music like this?

Two words...BAD-ASS!!! Beautiful music coupled with Super Gorgeous Ladies makes for a delight to the ears and eyes. This is the best orchestral performance I've seen on youtube so far by very talented young people. I agree that the snare drum was a tad bit loud, but dude did a great job!
@johnfudens96498 жыл бұрын
Agreed this is one of the best versions on you tube. A very fine group of young musicians playing a difficult piece. Yes the young man on the drums keeping the pace did a great job. May be started a bit slow but as the piece continued was fun to watch them get into the rhythm and put more body language into playing. Enjoyed the one young lady who was moving all the time when playing. Happy to see so many young women playing. Was surprised with the few audience shots that the people seemed stoned faced but very pleased with the applause the musicians got. Conductor did a great job also. As you can imagine I have downloaded this and will be playing it regularly with other versions of Bolero. As for the few negative comments to this piece why don't you move on. If you can't say something nice then keep your mouth shut. Yes you may have the right to say what you want but that doesn't mean you are right by doing so.

What I love about this interpretation is the lightness of touch, rendering the work somehow even darker to my ears. Here is the snare - the infernal machine - contrasted with the light, singing, almost mocking tone of the remainder of the orchestra. If there were members of the audience not enjoying it, that may be the effect the work is having on them rather than any reflection on the orchestra or the performance. Personally, I have to be in the right headspace to hear this work, and this is one of the best interpretations I've encountered. Trust this wonderful orchestra to come up with yet another fine rendition. we are truly spoilt.

Very well done. Better than many of the big-name orchestras I've heard do Bolero. I also loved that the artists move their bodies. Something about that sits well with me. I enjoy seeing them "feel" the music when other performers often stay so rigid. Well done. and... Im a fan of the early snare.

It is so nice to see the young people playing world class music. Though for me, it was a little sobering because, after WWII, so many European orchestras were staffed with young and very old people because so many of the former musicians were no longer with us. I'm so glad this is not the case. A beautiful performance.

Actually... the tempo here at a quarter note equals 72 bpm is Exaxtly what Messr. Ravel specified on his original manuscript. Don't take My word for it... look it up. Most "mainstream" orchestra conductors seem to want to drag it out, for some reason. Maybe so that they can spend more time displaying their conducting theatrics, perhaps?... 🤔🤣 Nejc and Primož, and their superb young musicians here, have absolutely Nailed it. 💖💕

To everyone saying that this performance was too fast or the snare didn't start as soft as needed in a negative connotation, I'm not fond of. Keep in mind, this concert was performed by young musicians, not musicians who have spent multiple decades building their musical career. Usually, with a group of young musicians you may have a limited time or even limited funding. Please don't knock it because of its small flaws.

My whole life has slipped before me and I have accomplished nothing. Please do not be so hard on yourself Patak ! ! I call it "woulda, coulda, shoulda," but there is no truth there. I could have done a few great things.
