Saw this on DVD when I was deployed in Iraq during OIF 06-08 and it has stuck with me ever since. This dude definitely is a GOAT for this one.

I can always tell you younger people by comments about old video resolution or sound. In 2004 (when I'm assuming this was filmed), this looked amazing on our lower resolution screens, in the era of 240p/360p web videos. This was definitely much clearer than most the analogue stuff we watched on TV for decades before this, and honestly DVD (typically 480p) wasn't much sharper than this. And the sound quality is only peaking because the way they had the interview improperly mic'd (with no compressor). It's not a result of the era it was recorded, or KZbin encoding back then. You might not understand this if your the people (many whom are already entering their early 30s) who spent most their life grewing up with LCD TVs, faster internet and HD digital content. But this is from the time when the standards were switching from the old analogue times (which I had spent 24 years living in prior to this) and the digital era. Because of this, ofcourse there are definitely growing pain most of us spend years and years living thru and thinking are normal. And you can't watch shows, broadcast TV or see online videos from that era without running across stuff like this regularly. It's not even worth mentioning.... But to the twenty somethings now looking back, this is a new thing to them they have to always point out. And that's the litness test that gives the people under 30 away.

Sad to hear him now struggle at a third the speed. His brain is still there, but the Cardiovascular disease, years of heavy substance use, and (ofcourse, the elephant in the room) hundreds of Chair-shots (and countless bumps, head dives, slams) to the head (aka CTEs) have caught up in the last few years badly. And his cognitive decline will only hasten every year. He now stumbles, looses his train of thought constantly and struggles to find the words for his epic intellectual pop-culture/psychology/business rants. I actually went back to see this to remind myself how fast on his toes and eloquent the was when he younger.

ECW had such a stacked roster at one point, Bam Bam Bigelow, cactus Jack, Shane Douglas, Raven, Sandman, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, balls and Axl, the Dudleys, Tazz, rob van dam. Hell if they did a video game now with a full ECW 90s roster, a full WCW 90s roster and a full WWF 90s roster it would sell like crazy
@kellijones64812 жыл бұрын
I’d buy that in a heartbeat. Imagine a GM mode where you can take control of any of the three rosters and put together weekly TV shows/monthly PPVs to compete with the other two rosters for ratings and PPV buy rates. A game like that would probably make me lose my job and social life because I’d spend hours playing something like that 😂

That story he told about making a ton of money having the babyfaces sell 8x10s of him picking his nose is absolute gold. It’s so simple and yet completely genius at the same time. Raven is one of the smartest guys in the business

Kids today. This was filmed for the internet back when video content online was typically 240p/360p, and if you were balling your Internet connection was a few hundred Megabytes. Most people were watching this on tiny 800p 4:3 screens and hearing this on a cheap 'tinnie' mono laptop speaker in the early/mid-00s. The audio admittedly though is a bit worse than it should be because they did not mic Raven properly, and are clearly using digital recording (which wasn't good back then) instead analogue and a compressor to keep it from peaking. But if your like 32 or older, you grew up (or if your a bit older like me, "was a adult") when this stuff was normal and acceptable because was better quality than what you watched every day of your life from over the air analogue TV stations, on your staticy 19" 240p CRT with a crappy mono speaker. This is hardly impossible to listen too. It sounds like someone using a Logitech USB microphone on PC or a OG Xbox Live headset in 2004, which we spent years being used too... Don't get me wrong, the audio is pretty amateur even for the time (especially compared to the stellar video quality for the time) - but it could actually be worse, and it's amazing this video even exists from a time when there were very few online videos sources making content or doing shoots like this.

You can probably listen to him now. The CTEs caught up, and the poor guy is much much slower. I actually wish he was still like this, because he is still a brilliant guy - but he struggles now to communicate at the level he did during this time. It's sad to see the ramifications of his cardiovascular issues, years of substances, and countless ECW chair-shots, head dives, and bumps when they eventually caught up with him in the last several years. I don't wish premature cognitive decline on anyone.
