was at this game again. aside from his scramble and back of the endzone dart, which was seriously one of the most impressive plays i've ever seen in person, lamar really didn't do anything. He had 2 near picks... one of which would be an outright drop by the bengals linebacker. he struggled to throw the ball right over trey hendrickson. and a MAJOR chunk of his yards were YAC. his receivers were phenomenal. He had 2 broken coverage touchdowns and a diving catch to convert a 3rd. he wasn't really a threat on his feet HOWEVER he got out of 3 near sacks that were sacks on EVERY single quarterback in the nfl aside from Lamar. One he got away for an incomplete after dropping back for a -20 loss to his own 5 yard line late. What lamar was seriously impressive with was the hurry-up offense. his ability to make short slanting passes was astounding. the second they moved to that before half time, they came out and never had a possession they didn't do it. the bengals had NO answer but to score themselves. the bengals cornerbacks are atrocious. the wideouts had a field day. Henry wasn't really a threat either. he was hit very hard and only broke one run. ravens as a team just flat out moved the ball consistently. idk the stat, but it felt like every single 2nd down, they would convert with a slant route for 10 yards or so. whereas Burrow had to make some fantastic throws to keep the bengals in the game and Tee especially was running great routes. Hats off to the ravens. but that game never felt that close. the ravens were consistently playing catchup until Joe's costly pick. they had terrible play calling down the stretch passing on 1st down for some reason then the ravens would drop back into coverage knowing they had to pass on 2nd and 3rd. they doubled Chase whenever that happened and like i said it took some type of miracle dime from Burrow to convert. Came down to a VERY. makeable kick that was missed. even more of a lock win that should have been than the chiefs especially after the fumble. At the end of the day, Jackson wasn't doing so much i was nervous when he had the ball. I was terrified once his receiver caught the ball - they were literally making bengals defenders fall over with jukes. and if it got to third, henry was a guarantee conversion. they are just so hard to stop from scoring. especially bc lamar can avoid a handlful of costly sacks that would force them to punt that would inevitably convert. even though it was a painful finish, it was a great game. lamar was an elite operator and game manager yesterday. he had some pretty bad throws and lucky to not have 2 picks but other than that, he kept his cool and did very well with the hurry up. bengals couldn't stop them. i respect him as a signal caller, but Burrow was a passer was destroying their defense at will. they just don't have a run game or a defense.
