Cool discussion. 44:51 The turn speed argument comes from old-school light weight players who want to circle strafe targets in order to avoid taking hits. Now that they can't escape the reticle, they've lost a major advantage present in the game up until now, although that advantage is mostly for PVE. The strange thing is, I prefer the way it is in 6, despite favoring feather weight ACs. I often play at under 55k weight in AC6, because I still find it fun to move fast, and I always thought it was odd that heavy ACs didn't swivel at the hip tank-turret style. In addition, a robot can have cameras and sensors facing in all directions, so there's no reason a targeting system wouldn't have 360 degree awareness on a fantasy war machine.

hello it was a Facebook psyOP that I created to gatekeep souls kids 🤣 turn speed was just meant to be a deep cut and my attempt at keeping turn speed tied to leg movement but honestly I’m not even disappointed FROM decided against it. 🤣

In the same way there are souls-like games, Daemon X Machina to me is an Armored Core-like game.

No way, Foxfire is still around? Now that's a name I haven't seen since ACfA. Good episode, I enjoyed hearing all the different perspectives about Armored Core.

YES (P/A with nexus HEAT) dude 100% how I look at it. We don’t have heat, we can still use pulse armor but we don’t get any PRIMAL armor

Absolutely agreed on AC6 being third gen, but more like Silent Line. So many direct lines, it's wild. Even down to the satellite hallway being remade for the flying city zones

57:25 VR would go so hard, but even headset but using motion controls or other external controls like pedals for simulation of piloting an ac would be amazing. feels like Gundam would be more likely to do something like that tho

A little late to the conversation, but I like to add that AC, narratively, is about the conspiracy. Learning of human plus, discovering the 9ball AI, learning what the corporations are hiding, the great destruction, becoming a member of the "bad guys" in orca because collard was dooming humanity, and so much more. The conspiracy narrative of each game is what elevates the story beyond just "corporations at war." Speaking of conspiracy theories, what do you think of the theory that all AC timelines are connected? It would make for a great video topic if one was into that sort of thing.

I would love the exploration missions from DxM in here. The rouge-like style dungeons were awesome and would go well with the testing of an AC design.

I was one of those people who weren’t happy about dual analogs being implemented. The thinking at the time was that the controls were supposed to be difficult because, imagine piloting a mech, it would probably be convoluted. If mechs were real today, that wouldn’t be the case. Between AI and all of the advancements you see with drones and other machinery, piloting a mech these days would probably be much more intuitive.

Never considered this angle before. Thanks for the input!

@@ClericArmoredCore I understand that we were probably shooting ourselves in the foot. I understand why you were advocating for more intuitive controls.

its called a muscle traicer for a reason its reads the signals going to your musles and interprets that into mech movement. its real tech today people have used to fly drones

Same folks complaining hard lock is easy mode forgot the last 11 years AT LEASE has been HARD LOCKING ACE, MOBIUS, ARES, NINEBALL SO ON ????? Oh but they don’t really hard lock you can escape their lock boxes … dude come on how often is that the case? This can be emulated by human error today (PvP) You are giving fellow players too much credit not to git juked 😂
