Hi Simeon! Thank you for a great review! I've got a question reading your way to record this sound. I am very new to record software so my question might be very stupid, sorry about that. So I am trying to use my piano part recorded in midi format in order to process it with Ravencroft 275 and get an amazing sound using Cubase 12. I also trying to figure out a way to play my midi keyboard and hear Ravencroft sound. And I am just puzzled what should I do in order to get it working. Can you give some advice about how to configure my DAW (Cubase) for that? Thank you in advance!

*Thanks for the update!* *Would you recommend this or the Garritan cfx?* *I just want a piano vst that close to the real thing and doesn't need any tweaking, able to play anything out the box*

Well honestly I think you will find yourself tweaking just about any library as there are so many things to consider. Your controller and touch will make a big difference in how the library responds. Also when you have multiple mic options available then you have to dial those in. Garritan is a very detailed and what I would almost call a purest library as it has the extra Una Corda layers and other things pianists are looking for. I think the Ravenscroft also has a very powerful and distinctive sound as well. Thanks so much for watching.

Simeon will you be reviewing and walking through the new Ravenscroft 220 VI piano library, thanks.

Oh yes, I am hoping to. I have been in communication with them and they are doing some heavy lifting to finish their new instrument. I will of course keep you posted. Stay tuned.

Thanks very much. Have you explored the uvi workstation filter settings at all. A tutorial for that would be educational? thanks so much.

My pleasure. I have yet to dive into the deep end on that. There is so much to learn about the deeper workings of the engine, and let’s not even get started with Falcon 😳

Hello Simeon, your Ravenscroft 275 sounds rich and full. Mine instead it sounds thin and poor and I do not use it anymore (I own a Studiologic SL88 studio and I had no problem with other libraries). Very disappointing. Thank you, I love your channel.

Paulo, I am sorry to hear that you are not having a good experience with the Ravenscroft. Can you share a little bit more about your setup (DAW, Audio Interface, etc.). One of the first things I tell viewers to look is regarding the VELOCITY CURVE SETTINGS. I usually advise going to extremes to see how the curve affects the sound and then making adjustments, so you get it in a good place. Please keep me posted and thanks so much for your kind support. Joyfully!

@@PraiseTracks Hello Simeon, thank you for the quick answer! No daw installed. just the ravenscroft 275 on UWI. I checked different dinamic curves, the sound of mid/high keys is always too thin (a bit like and harpsichord ). Audio Interface Komplete 6 (latency around ms 60). Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo T440 laptop (Intel I7 4712MQ 2.30Ghz, 16 Gb Ram, SSD 500gb samsung evo). With the same config. I had no issues with pianos on Kontakt or Pianoteq. Thank you.

Hi I still consider of all the vst pianos I have, the ravenscroft is my go to piano and I've got a lot of 'em play with it some more.

Hi Simeon, do you know this VST sample recording base on which piano?

I bought Ravenscroft last year on the black Friday sale, I bought before even buying my piano (Roland fp30x) I was so excited to pair the Roland's acclaimed key action with the highly hyped up Ravenscroft, alas after months and months of tweaking and fiddling I cant seem to find a sound I can just easily enjoy with Ravenscroft, the inbuilt sounds on the roland sound more pleasing and balanced to be honest, unfortunately I don't recommend this product

Not really, this was a specific video to cover the room mics. In my other Ravenscroft video I go into a little more detail with the other mics. It has also been a while since I covered this so it might be time to revisit this one again. Thanks for watching.

@@PraiseTracks Thank you. I'll check out the other video. I was, of course, just kidding around. I noticed you loaded the samples for all four mic positions, but then only demoed three of them. Thank you for taking the time to show this instrument. Videos like this really help me make decisions about what tools I can benefit from.
