This is making me cry. All of this......George is so amazing....so talented. I'm saying 'is' and not 'was' because even after his passing, he still will live forever in my heart.

We need to give credit where credit is due. Most people have no clue how much George was inspired to follow the teachings of Lord Krsna as taught by Prabhupada. He even wanted to shave his head and move into the temple, but Prabhupada said he could do more to serve Lord Krsna's message of love and service living outside. Can you imaginine what it would have been like though to go on Harinama Sankirtan with George ?

George harrison had reverance for sri prabhipad, but his true master and guru was SHRI PARAMHANSA YOGANANDA JI.
@gauradas1084 жыл бұрын
@@yashvardhansinghsolanki6391 , though George had appreciation and affection for Yogananda, I would not be so quick to diminish George's service to Lord Sri Krishna as guided by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. George was inspired by Srila Prabhupada and his disciples who became his intimate friends like Mukunda, Shymasundara Guru Das, Malati Yamuna and Janaki. George recorded an entire album with them "The Radha Krishna Temple Album" in 1969, and the "Hare Krishna Mantra" from that album went to the top of the charts all over the world. George included the Hare Krishna Mantra in his smash hit "My Sweet Lord" in 1970 that got millions chanting it to their great benefit, which was George's intention. This was due to Srila Prabhupada's guidance and inspiration. George donated $19,000. to print "The Krishna Book" in 1970 which provides the transcendental histories of Lord Krishna when He was on Earth 5000 yrs. ago, in 90 chapters, a summary of the 10th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam / Bhagavat Purana. George donated Bhaktivedanta Manor and 20 acres of land to the Krishna devotees in 1973 because he had inspired so many young men and women to give up material life and practice Krsna consciousness / bhakti yoga full on in the temple. A larger building was required so George donated a $ 350,000 Manor to serve the needs of the ever- increasing Krishna devotees and the Indian community. Before his album "Living In The Material World" was released, George wanted to include and shrink wrap Hare Krishna mantra meditation beads and a bead bag with each album, but it was too bulky A few years ago when the local neighbours were complaining that too many people were coming to visit Bhaktivedana Manor in Watford, Letchmore Heath that George donated for festivals and wanted to ban outside traffic, George offered to dontaed his Henley-on-the-Thames mansion as the next Krishna temple. An Auckland New Zealand-based Hare Krishna devotee, longtime friend of George Harrison and my godbrother, Mukunda das Goswami was at the bedside of the cancer-stricken Beatle when he died. Mukunda chanted and prayed at the Los Angeles house where Harrison, 58, succumbed to brain, throat, and lung cancer on Friday. Goswami met Harrison in London in the late 1960s, when The Beatles lead guitarist embraced the Hare Krishna movement. They had been close friends since and produced an album of Hare Krishna music entitled”The Radha Krishna Temple” album in 1969 In a statement to followers, immediately after the departure, Mukunda Goswami and fellow devotee and close friend of George’s Shyamasundar Das, said that during Harrison's last days "Krishna devotees were by his side and he left his body to the sounds of the Hare Krishna mantra".

Could you imagine to want nothing more than to enter the temple and be told he could best serve on the outside? That must have been difficult as it was the opposite, but he did it. And for that I respect George even more now than ever before.

Harrison, judgment by the look at his eyes, was fascinated, probably because he admired Ravi Shangar more than everyone else. He was proud of what he had done wich lead him and his partners to be living such unique opportunities on human lifes. Incredible. Their believes, I can not assure it, but should be, at least, based on the same values are mines. Thank you. Thanks George, Richard, Paul... and John. Magicly they ... taught the same values Jesus spent His life time teaching.

@skjoyner Don't worry, there is hope for the future! I fell in love with the Beatles at age 11 (circa 1994) and they've been a part of my soul ever since. They introduced me to Ravi and Indian music; years later, Ravi, Anoushka, and other classical Indian artists are on regular rotation on my iTunes. Now I'm ensuring it's getting passed to the next generation - my daughters know many Beatles songs by heart! It's only a matter of time before they can appreciate the beauty of the sitar.

Srila Prabhupada inspired George to write this song. He invited George to spend time with him, and that he would give him ideas for his future songs based on the songs of the great Vaisnava acarayas, like Narotama das Thakura, and Srila Bhaktivonoda Thakur, and this is one of those songs inspired by Hare Krsna Movement founder / acarya , AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
