Church bases can be really fun in gunfights, remember we had a "hotel" at the church in the town we had our base in. And the hotel residents tried to form a group and attack us, we were fighting for an hour or so until they asked to leave safely. Then one of the admins showed up and sniped one of the guys and they thought we did it, so they tried to raid us the next day. But damn was it fun.

Over the years I've come to appreciate smaller base locations over the big, obvious ones. I start small, secure my spot then build out from there, particularly if the location would be able to accomodate a vehicle.

That's how I usally do it, but this time I wanted to go big, cause I had a Great Run finding to many Big ass Tents and alot of nails, wich I first hid somewhere in the Woods, to gather all the equipment for my plan. At the moment I have a solo Base with 5 Military Tents, 2 Car Tents and 3 Small Tents, all located at the roof of a Hospital, located in the Pavlovo Contaminated Zone😅 Hardest Base I ever build, and ATM my securest, I mean its almost 2 months old but it lasted longer than any build base, and I can't tell how many people have tried, but I did log in and found two Bodies at the Ground Floor inside my first Fence, probably got trapped and Air run out or Zombies attacked or a mix of both😂😂 And getting up the Roof is also a Challenge, cause on my own I wouldn't be able, I always need to log in one account first wich is always at the roof, cause he is the Key, to open... no close certain Gates inorder to get up the Ladder😅

Sorry to say mate but there’s no secret hidden spot for me in chernarus , simply there’s no good base location where you can avoid to get raided , the harder to raid are the industrial buildings with ladder outside

Build a selfmade shelter somewhere in the middle of nowhere with two woodenchests, hidden in a circel of needletrees. Make Sure to place it so deep in the forest that you yourself get almost lost by heading back to it. These shelters give you a Bonus on temprature and keep you dry.

True, best bet for long term is maybe a watchtower base in the woods but even that just depends on how long it takes to be found. These days if I build a base I expect it to be raided quickly, for me they’re basically just temporary PvP HQ’s to keep a couple extra kits in. I find basebuilding a lot more fun and a lot less stressful that way.

6:20 is my favorite base. I've lived there for 4 years and only been raided twice. 10/10 since there's a river a couple meters down the hill, it's 15 minutes from a hospital, and north enough to find lots of military gear.

I've built in most of the "common" base building spots, and now prefer locations which are either, less used, not as popular or where you have to be a little creative. Generally, my strategy is to find 1) a new spot I've never used, 2) an existing building with impenetrable walls that can be secured with a single gate, 3) a building which is at least 2 stories high. I'm glad you didn't mention the barns because they are actually the worst, but for some reason they seem to bee extremely common right now (on the servers I've been on recently anyway).

The cherno/elektro mountain base is always a go to for me. It’s easy to get to super out of the way and while I’ve only built tents and crates, the vertical options you have there are really impressive.

Building a base in DayZ is just putting a target on your forhead.There are big clans that can raid any base on server and there is no secret place for a base. Making a stash with wooden boxes somwhere in woods under a tree is a much better option.You saved a lot of time and its a lot more safe. Evry time I had build a base it was radied and from then,evry time i made a stash in woods was working so good. (DayZ veteran) 👋

Same. I quit building bases years ago. Only crates from now on. So easy to hide. Drop them in any lake. You can literally place them under any of the rubbish piles that are everywhere. Drop them under the large downed trees and they disappear inside. Chicken coops. The blue caravans have a place underneath that you can put them in. Very rarely have one found

My team and I spent dayz (see what i did there) trying to find the perfect out of the way base. Longer to get it built. Finally got it done, came back a couple days later from supply running and the place was griefed so hard it was just a tent and a few poles standing. No more bases, just stashes.

1:52 I used to make bases in these sheds all the time - but you can get 'wall banged' easily enough. Bullets just cut and shred through the walls - so you have to build extra walls inside; which appears pointless really, when other buildings can be utilised. The Piano house is very good. Now, the downside is, (3) entrances - so (3) gates/walls...but as Rav mentioned, difficult to door camp. You start on the stairs at the top, block that off. Maybe also the rear room. So that is two doors. Players can still enter downstairs, but as you acquire more building materials you can wall off 1 or 2 of the 3 entrances - I've done it as a solo and it is achievable. I build a triangle/V type construction at the bottom of the stairs, with a gate and a wall for added protection. Another bonus of this two-floor build, you can put a flag on the bottom floor (once secured) and it is relatively well hidden.

Been playing on EU 1420. Had a base in Severograd apartments, lasted less than 24 hours. Had a base in Berezino small PD, lasted nearly a week. We left it for a few days, went up north & when we came back there was bodies everywhere outside. People started fighting each other thinking they where the base owners.

1 large tent, 1 Camo netting, and 4 barrels. That's 1000 units of storage. Hide it deep in the woods. NOT on a tree line or near any major traffic areas. Make sure it's surrounded by large Pine trees so it blends well.. next work on trip wires with smokes stuns or grenades and lay landmines only so that you know the way in. Build a gate right in front of the large tent door and pad lock that. Finally set a grenade on a final trip wire line on the INSIDE of your tent, right in front of the door way. Then log out in the corner. . You're welcome.

Tripple yellow is the one. Run barbed wire over the ladder access on all ways up, and you can't climb up through the wire. It has to be ruined, before you can get passed. Which, because it's a long way up means noob choob, god nades, or a lot of ammo. Be careful, it is possible to gain access to the broken ladder side with an easy jump up.

I gave up on bases and just use mule accounts to hold my stuff. When i get killed, i travel to a spot on the same server, wait 5 minutes, switch to my mule and drop all the stuff i need, weapons, plate, etc. Can't raid a logged out character.

I've built in so many of these locations over the past 14 years of playing Dayz. The mega south ones are a pain as any loot you want to store you are running a very far way back. I like the ones dotted around the middle. Easy to get back to for a fresh spawn, easy to go drop off gear.

It's a shame that most BIG streamers like Smoke, Lax, TRMZ, DayOne and the clones, all HATE bases and actively tell there community (a combined 4000 people) that BASES ARE BAD BASES MUST GO They take them out of there servers. Wanta know why? BECASUE it affects the streamers BOTTOM line ($$$) at the end of the day. So you have big streamers basically trying to convince the players and devs that BASES are bad but in reality they just need content for there streams and if someone is in there base then that is 1 less 'interaction' on stream therefore less content therefore less money. I LOVE Basing in DayZ. It's important to server health and no one realizes it. Thats why we only have 3-4 full community servers to play on PC (all of which have no bases hard built into the gamefile). I wish the streamers would understand that because of there position, that's why they hate bases, not because basing is bad, or bad for the gamer or anything at all. TLDR: Lots of servers dont let you build bases because Streamers can't get content if they can't find you in the map not in a base. (even though raiding bases is some of the best content).

Only problem with bridge bases is the lag they cause as a player is passing through. It’s almost a dead give away that there’s a base/loot around. I’ve discovered a few because my game will lag spike notifying me that there’s something around. Same can be said for tree stashes but they’re not as easy to discover if the trees are thick.

Im gonna be honest, no place is safe, all you can do is find the location and building that is the hardest to raid. My base is up a Hospital Building, you may think thats quite simple, the location is in Pavlovo in the Contaminated Zone. Obviously multiple fences, and the Hatch with the Ladder that Leads to the Roof, has Gates, that kinda block the Way up, cause i build it outside next to the Tiny House at the roof, that when i open it, it clips through the Wall and Basically blocks the Hatch getting to the roof, obviously all Barbed wired. I dont know how often people have tried, but i did once logged in, and saw two Bodys hop over the fence at the Ground floor, who looked themselves in and probably Air Ran out or Zombie attacked them 😂😂 Its quite hard raiding a base, while fighting Zombies who constantly kinda Spawn in, while watching your Air Filters and checking your Cloathing not getting damaged.

No such thing as an unfindable base, no such thing as a place no-one will check for one, and some folk just get a gut feeling about things they can't even see yet, found a lot of bases and other things either through that or sheer dumb luck. It's always a case if "When" your base gets found and who by, be as hidden as you like, someone will find your base eventually almost every damn time.
