Quick thoughts anyone? This is going to change how I have to process video....

Looks good in 5k. I am interested on how you deal with the workflow. Thanks for posting.

As of right now not well. I am exporting the shots from this session right now, about 10 min of video total, have about 7 hours left on the render (so I can put a video out tomorrow!) I am using After Effects, Davince is considerably faster but isn't working properly for some reason.

Now I know what to expect. I know the CINESSD's are fast but I hear the drive is slow.
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
Its not I expected it to be slow transferring, not more than you would expect for a USB 3 drive

Great picture, was it windy the footage looks a little shaky?

Beautiful.. I have the inspire 2.. just need to save for the ssd and licence now..
@MrJun9098 жыл бұрын
Reloaded and max resolution is still 1440. It also looks a bit muddy. Maybe due to the challenging light?
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
+MrJun909 dark in areas yes (muddy to me would mean no detail, lots of color noise, etc) , I want to get a scene where the highlights would be maxed as well as shadows - detail all throughout though

Wow! It's like being there.

Any chance you could make the original cDNG footage downloadable somewhere? I'd love to try opening up the shadows and seeing how much latitude there is before running into the noise floor.

Great footage, please upload more short clips

Thanks - will do

Just a question really quick for you Bill and thank you for sharing! I love this stuff. When you export a project in 5.2k what bitrate do you use?
@TheJWC56RSA8 жыл бұрын
Your own thought about the SSD / license route? Worth to save and spend the money?? Much better than the SD / H.265 route?
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
Just getting initial testing, but from the couple clip,s yes it's a huge difference. But it really depends on what you are doing. Just for fun, showing on KZbin? Then probably not. Clients that are currently happy with footage that isn't Raw - then probably not. You want the best image, with the most latitude, or have clients that need it, then yes it's worth it. I may end up shooting in ProRes more than CinemaDNG for workflow reasons. Right now I am still waiting for my clips from yesterday to finish converting. A 1min 13sec clip, on my MacPro took about 2 hours to export from After Effects.

Looks good. I can see an option to select 5k. In Chrome only though, not IE. 5k is a little jumpy on my machine, 4k option is smooth.
@fruiteeplanet31257 жыл бұрын
4k looks incredible in my 1080p monitor, just imagine how 5.2k would look on a 4k TV .....this tech is futuristic
@ragirate5357 жыл бұрын
holy cow 5.2k can't believe this resolution, by the way how long did you post this?
@BillNicholsTV7 жыл бұрын
What do you mean how long?

Completely random question, are you related to the "The RCNetwork" channel? He's using your music! :)

Looks good, only 1440P for me as well. Was this graded at all?
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
+micdogg187 no - conversion in camera raw was it with a lens profile applied for distortion correction, very light noise reduction which was really needed
@micdogg1878 жыл бұрын
Wow great shot for no grading
@jazzfunkyplayer8 жыл бұрын
you can see 2880p in Chrome. Safari or IE doesn't allow (at least newer videos).
@MrEdmundoGC8 жыл бұрын
Amazing quality, but i noticed something in the video maybe just maybe the lens was dirty or maybe a hair was on the lens, i saw a white shadow in the middle or might be my fuking eye im going blind
@gfa0508 жыл бұрын
It says the max resolution is 1440p
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
+Gary Allison select where it says 1440 - you can change your quality there
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
+Gary Allison I see you say it says max, just checked on 3 different ones here, can select up to 5k - try reloading maybe
@dawsonboyle998 жыл бұрын
Gary Allison the camera shoot 5.2k but your probably going to edit in no more than cinema 4K and uhd isn't technically 4K so KZbin recently changed it to 1440 and if you upload in cinema 4K it will then say 4k
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
Dawson Boyle KZbin now allows and plays back at 5K as well. That update to their playback capability came online a few weeks back, and you can now also directly upload Apple ProRes directly to the platform. This is a 27sec, 5.2K ProRes 422 file
@dawsonboyle998 жыл бұрын
BillNicholsTV yes I am aware of 5k playback but some people may not be able to watch with mb limitations, and internet speed. Also I think it can go up to 8k as well. Also great footage if you want to check out my channel I processed a sample raw sequence from djis website I have a couple more and I think they turned out great.

1440 only on my iPad Pro

Im getting max 1440 on 5K imac using Safari however the full 5K video works with Chrome fine
@jeffreymasessa96908 жыл бұрын
It doesn't work it's only 1440
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
+Drone Society interesting you guys are seeing 1440 only - two locations I can select 5k - I'll dig into it
@gfa0508 жыл бұрын
It's working now. I think it might have been on KZbin's side. I think the lower res versions are available for viewing before the higher res ones are.
@BillNicholsTV8 жыл бұрын
They are - maybe t had to replicate across regions
@jazzfunkyplayer8 жыл бұрын
In Google Chrome available 2880p, in Safari only 1440p. Some oldest videos possible to see in 4k in safari. But KZbin some time ago start to processing differently 4k/8k files and some browsers (like Safari) just can't handle that codec. Video looks great BTW
