@kickodude11 жыл бұрын
So you're in front of Daniel Day-Lewis. One of the greatest and most reclusive actors of our time. And now you have the opportunity to ask him a question, an opportunity most can only dream about. And what do you do with this opportunity? What do you ask him? Whether his fucking beard was itchy or not...of course. In fact, almost all of these questions are incredibly stupid. Seriously, how can these people call themselves "journalists"?

I love how he makes such an effort to find the questioner, make eye contact, and really establish a connection with that person (calling him or her by name if he can). He seems so affable, open, quietly articulate and funny... and this for a person with such a reputation of being reclusive.
@Maximillionaire66610 жыл бұрын
He's so unlike how you'd expect him to be. For someone who's incredibly intimidating on screen he seems so affable in real life. Not that I'd expect him to be overly serious anyway but still, refreshing to see he's just a regular guy.
@moisemensah82338 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're right. He appears to be a very nice, fine, well-mannered man which is a farcry expected from an actor that legendary. I expected him to be very chilling and intimidating. Nice to see it's not the case. I hope to see him in new movies next year. He should definitely work with Fincher, Von Trier or Malick one day.

Oh piss the hell off you pompous, pretentious dickslap. If we're not hearing about how celebrities shouldn't speak on serious issues (politics, social ills, environment, etc.), then we're getting the likes of you knocking anyone who doesn't ask them about their 'method' or did how they 'channel' so-and-so in their film. He obviously was fine with all the questions and no doubt was glad not to get some such topic that would lead to some longwinded response. This was just a quick Q&A post-award, goober, not Inside the Actor's Studio.

So happy to see William, the Duke of Cambridge, dub him Sir Daniel on 11/14/14. He was so humble on the announcement, and seemed very proud and honored at the ceremony. It's a shame we have to pinch ourselves when an actor is totally serious about the work but doesn't take himself too seriously, and gives acceptance speeches that are usually brief but always articulate, gracious, and witty. He makes all those qualities refreshing, not stodgy.

@@EclipticVistaYT Nowhere near Oldman or DDL. Their sheer range, skill and versatility beats him. However, Brando was the most "influential" of all the actors because he brought naturalism on screen and commercialized it, which was actually initiated by Orson Welles - who again is arguably the greatest American actor of all time.

His Lincoln portrait stays with you long after you see the film. It's so refreshing to see someone who's so choosy about the work they do. The real triumph was when 12 Years A Slave won the Oscar this year. That film is the bookend to Lincoln, which I consider a work of art.
