Hey Ian thanks for another video! My internet has been totally glitched out lately so I've missed a few. I'm sitting here watching this video and thinking about the season that you had this year. From springtime total explicative weather to floods to massive losses and then back to this amazing harvest. I was reflecting on some of the other years I've watched your channel and how well you manage the bees. And it is truly amazing what you have done with the bees and how well you understand their life cycle and process and how well you manage them. I want to sincerely thank you so much for all the excellent information that you share with all of us! God bless Ian!

Fascinating! Enjoy all your videos. But the harvest and processing is most intriguing. Thank you! -Jeff (near Duluth MN)

Your floor is so clean, between moving the frames on one side to the automatic Lyson uncapper a few feet away, I slide in a film of fallen honey.

I have watched/enjoyed the honey house over three seasons. (I am more engineer than farmer.) Suddenly watching the process, I have three questions that never occurred to me before. Possibly you file them mentally for answering in next season videos. 1) You place a super upon the rollers as a first step and a rudimentary scrape is done. Yet I don't see a collection of propolis/wax on the floor under the rollers. Am I just missing the mess, or a trough under the rollers?..... 2) The supers move to the lift point where the frames get popped out and set upon the conveyor system heading to uncapping. Now, I have seen the leverage you have to exert with your hive tool in the field to get just one frame to lift out. And in the extraction process you have 9 frames at once. Is there that much force applied? Some trick/advantage applied? Risk of occasional frame damage? 3) You load up the spinner. 60 frames or so. And start it up and the lid lowers. Suddenly I think about the rotation and the direction centripetal acceleration is pulling the honey from the frames. I wonder why the lid isn't "filthy" with honey when it opens up again? Does the preheat mean it flows down from the lid so fast during the cycle that it isn't noticeable when the lid eventually opens? Or viscosity plays a factor and the release from the frame happens while passing the low point? Or just my tablet screen keeps me from seeing the all round coating of honey? As always, I appreciate the videos.

Lol, I appreciate the complementary remarks within those questions. We have a tray under the roller table

The deboxer (what we call it) has a 2 stage lift process, one is the box that pushes it up into place and a secondary tray within that continues to push the frames.

We run a 8 min spin cycle, which is about what the uncapper does so we continually run the uncapper all day. 90% of the honey is pulled out within a min of spin, the remainder throughout the rest of the cycle, the frames go in basically clean of wax so the honey “washes” the inside continually. Quite efficient
