Try the RockShox Deluxe RT3 from the 2019/2020 Expert model frames. I like it better when climbing, so much more platform when pedaling and it makes the bike feel lively. I just suggested that because you mentioned you're coming from XC background and it's perfect for long days. Nice video and that bike sound so quiet (I like it!)! I have the annoying i9 Hydras but it helps with the hikers. :)

I had a Monarch Debonair (before deluxe and current options existed) on a 2015 Stumpjumper and the shock was incredible. I’ve done more rides on the DPX2 since filming this and really have had no complaints. On gravel roads and pavement it’s truly firm when in the firm setting and on single track climbs it feels fine when seated. Out of the saddle it cycles through the travel a fair amount but at an amount that I feel is acceptable for a 150mm bike. Out of curiosity I’d like to try a Lyric/Super Deluxe combo, but purely out of curiosity. No complaints yet here regarding the suspension! Thanks for the insight

I have the same bike nice video. What are your camera settings can’t get mine to come out like this?
@TJonesMTB3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! For this video I was using a GoPro Hero 7 with stabilization on, mounted on a gimbal. Settings were 2.7k 4:3 60fps and then have protune setup. Cheers

@@TJonesMTB Gotcha maybe its something with my editing I don't know lol, I have a video on my channel and to me it looks like trash my settings are 4k 30fps with a few tweaks in the protune setup im using a Hero 9 no gimbal. could you give it a glance and tell me what you think.
@TJonesMTB3 жыл бұрын
@@Big-O86 i looked at your two new videos (stumpy evo and another one that you just uploaded) and they honestly look fine. Color is maybe a bit saturated. Trail looks pretty choppy so some bounce is expected since there’s no gimbal. Try using “flat” instead of “gopro” on the color setting within Protune if you’re not already. It does mean you have to do a bit more post work (i just touch up contrast and saturation) but it’ll look a lot more natural. Also I didn’t mention before but I’m running an external mic. I did just pick up a Hero 9 and plan on testing that once the trails dry out. If all goes well, that’ll be my new camera setup. I’m using: ISO min: 100 ISO max: 400 Color: flat White balance: 5500 EV: -1 Sharpness: low Think that’s everything off the top of my head(don’t have camera in hand). Give that a go and see what you think. If you’re set on 30fps you could also film in 5k and then put it into a 4k storyline with post production stabilization to help smooth it without losing any quality at the 4k size, I believe at least. I’m definitely far from pro at this and am learning with trial. Cheers!

Trying the decide between this and the Enduro as a second bike. Have the Epic Evo already as my daily. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks!
@TJonesMTB3 жыл бұрын
Epic Evo and Stumpy Evo would be a sweet combo! I think the Stumpy is more versatile than the Enduro but it’s hard to answer without knowing what your general terrain is like. I personally have the normal Epic and I’ve been pretty interested in trying the Evo. If you really want to go big, the Enduro would take care of that. Otherwise the Stumpy is still pretty big while being a reasonable trail bike. Hopefully that helps a little. Cheers!

@@jeremyrobinette2563 if you’re doing weekends at Winterpark or Keystone (or others) maybe Enduro would be a better choice then? Stumpy would probably be happier on the local trails than the Enduro but for the weekend getaways, maybe Enduro. I think I’d prefer the Stumpy for any moab/loma/gj riding though

This is one of my dream bikes although I think its overkill for the trails around my area.

Check out the non-evo version then. I got the chance to check out that bike and it’s super capable, super fun, and a better climber! Still shreds on the downs!

Is it a good bike for enduro ?
@TJonesMTB Жыл бұрын
It’s definitely capable of racing enduro, but the answer depends on what the terrain is like. It will be great for some courses and not great for others. So yes, it can race enduro
