You can really see how Rick Rude felt when he got that initial reaction at the start of Raw. He didn't give a standard heel reaction, but instead had what was obviously a "Come on, guys, I don't agree with what happened to Bret, either" look of disappointment to him. That said, really looking forward to next week's RtW thumbnail, because there's really no other choice than two Rick Rudes.

I absolutely love this series. With the ability of hindsight, it's fascinating to see the long term struggles WCW was booking themselves into with the NWO. As a kid though, I was all in on both of these companies at the time. Thanks for doing this.

For sure ! Its great looking back on . I saw most of these shows as they happened , give or take . Untill WCW got so terrible i couldnt stomach it ! And as for Reliving the war , ive watched it religiously and look forward every Thursday ! I think all wrestling fans enjoy this series ! If not they are missing out !!!

Steve "Muhfugin" Blackman is definitely a new favorite running gag. I like how you can hear Bios smile when he says muhfugin. 😆 Great to see him finally show what he can do and that montage at the end shows just how great his fighting style was.

I know everyone has probably re-boooked The Hitman's introduction to WCW, but my feeling is he should have come in to clean everything up and formed a new Dangerous Alliance consisting of him, DDP, the Giant, and Ric Flair to combat the NWO.

Watching RAW back then it really felt like the air was thick with tension. Backstage wrestlers like Mick Foley boycotted the show, Undertaker threatened to kick Vince's ass in a shoot, Bulldog, Jim The Anvil would leave immediately after. The ripple effect of the Montreal Screwjob was interesting and odd to witness in real time.

This episode was so sad as it was confirmation that Bret Hart really was gone from WWF and wouldn't be coming back. I knew that no good would ever come of that.

I was a kid and thought it was part of the storyline even after Vince’s “Bret screwed Bret” interview. What made me realize that he’s really gone was when HBK and HHH bring out the midget dressed as Bret. That made me so angry that I stopped watching Raw until Tyson showed up in January.

@@cyrus2546 I was only 5 in 1997 so I wasn't allowed to watch WWF. I only knew minor bits of info that my older brother, who was already a fan, would mention. Then on the night covered in the video, my brother sneakily let me watch the show with him and I became hooked because I loved Shawn and Chyna and the action in general. My parents eventually eased up and I watched it every week with my brother. We also played the video games and had the action figures. :)

@@xLitaFan4Everx I was 7 in 1997, I didn't know anything about the screw job because I didn't get to see wrestling regularly as I only had cable when I stayed at my father's house. I was a huge Bret fan as a younger kid, but I wouldn't come to appreciate the true extent of his greatness until I was able to access the Network several years ago and watch his full career. His matches with Diesel are some of the most underrated in-ring storytelling in the history of the industry. All because people like to pretend that Nash was all size and no talent, which is entirely untrue. He was just far too green for the title push he was given, but working with Bret brought up the ability of just about everyone he ever worked with.

To put it very lightly. WCW had a built in audience of fans from the NWA territories who appreciated in-ring action over cartoon characters and Bischoff just didn't understand that.

This channel just popped up in my feed last week and this was my 1st video I watched. Now I'm gonna go back to episode 1. This is a great series. I subbed a couple of days ago in anticipation of this particular episide I was there at Raw. No idea of what happened the night before, until I got to the arena and heard what happened. Watching this brings back so many my memories. Lots sticks out about that night. I was 3rd row, camera side and 1 thing that sticks out was Kane's Pyro going off in the ring. It gave off tremendous heat. Never forget it.
