If that's how he treats his friends, how do you think he treated his enemies? Drugged up HBK is a dangerous man on the mic.
@Cableguy15
@Cableguy15 Жыл бұрын
I remember seeing in one of HBKs old DVDs that they almost got into a fight backstage at some point after his semi-retirement. They never mention what show it happened at, but I always figured it was this one. Being fair to HHH here, he kept it professional by only taking shots at Michaels in-storyline. He could have easily fired back with something more personal, like his drug problems at the time.
@bryanmack4054
@bryanmack4054 Жыл бұрын
@@Cableguy15 I think here, they were just doing the Russo thing, blurring reality and fiction but they were still friends…they had a falling out at the Raw before Wrestlemania 17 (I think). Shawn was high as a kite and passed out backstage. HHH told Vince about it and Shawn was told to go home. Shawn was angry that HHH didn’t take his side…the rumor was, Shawn was supposed to be involved in the HHH-Taker match at 17 had that not happened
@freakshowfilmfestival3591
@freakshowfilmfestival3591 Жыл бұрын
I think on the Shawn DVD Shawn and HHH bring up the falling out and Nash clarifies that Shawn talked to Nash about it and Nash was like "Dude, that was all your fault." Like 'You are the only one who can fix it.' Same with his wife opening his eyes like 'you need help'. It's an off story that stuck with me for some dumb reason: He got up looking for some cookies, and he asked his wife where they were at and she is like "You and (his son) ate them all. Don't you remember?" And that's when he clued in that he was so out of it all the time he needed help. 🤷

Not that I doubted it, but Holly really was a d-bag. I see he didn't bother selling for Jackie at all. But you can't really expect a locker room bully to sell for a woman, so it's not surprising. He clearly didn't bother getting fully into position even though he could have, and he didn't try to sell any impact even a bit.

The Blue Blazer stuff doesn't bother me since it goes back to 1988-1989 for me during Owen's first run in the fed. What bothers me is what's going to happen in just a few months. Only one problem with Wrath's winning streak. Bill Goldberg has defeated him in a few seconds on 20th October 1997. He has reviewed it a year ago episode 104. it was Goldbergs 5th victory. Wrath didn't even take of his entrance gear.... Are we claiming it wasn't Wrath??? I can get behind that. Wrath is my boy. Big power guy... Affectively useless but great finisher and prime boy material... But to be honest you can claim all I said about wrath and say the same thing about Goldberg. Except with Goldberg WCW strapped the rockets to him

As confirmed VERY vividly by Jim Cornette, you can tell Russo was nipping Vince’s ear to get his ideas heard around this time. Like 1000 ideas per week, with maybe 1 or 2 being good. The guitar on a pole match being one of is infamous BS ideas carried all the way to WCW. Jim’s stories are so amazing and you can tell almost everything he says is true, the dates he has written down for all Russo’s folly’s match up. Amazing stuff.

At this point I'm wondering why WCW didn't just make the Starrcade '98 main event the Goldberg/Nash/Bigelow three-way dance. They've obviously been hyping up the idea, and it would have even given WCW a bit of a way out of not "truly" ending Goldberg's undefeated streak. Simply have Nash pin Bigelow to win the title, while the commentary team can start to wonder if the finish actually affects Goldberg's streak, since he wasn't the one that was pinned. It also gets the title off of Goldberg without him having to do the job, which in turn would have given him renewed meaning to hunt back for the title that he never truly lost, in a sense. I mean, we'd still wind up having the Fingerpoke of Doom & the failed attempt at nWo Elite, all things afterwards staying the same, but at least we wouldn't have gotten Scott Hall with a taser.
