It makes no sense in the context of the series. Anyone who watched it back in 1998/1999 would know just how over/popular the “ladies and gentlemen..” speech was. Bret in WCW, on the other hand, was so poorly booked that most people probably *did* want him to shut up at that time. Plus, I’m sure it was a ton of effort to keep thinking of / creating new bits for it each and every week.

I was going to mention the same thing, Bull legit didn't want to go into the pool but Hammer kept motioning to the crowd that he was going to throw him in the pool for real. Bull finally stiffed Hammer with a punch to the face to get him to stop and so as a receipt Hammer planted Bull hard with his finisher.

Oh yeah, we are fully in the time period I started watching as a fan of wrestling. This episode of Raw is just iconic, that beer truck, and freakin Vince swimming. I love this stuff and in all these years I completely forgot that the beer truck spot is how they kicked off the damn show, that screams "final shot of the not" but NAH NAH, WWF just gave that away at the beginning! About 2nd streak that you mentioned. After Starrcade Goldberg actually lost 2 match in a row at house shows. Both matches were triple treat matches for WCW championship between Nash/Goldberg and Bam Bam. After this 2 matches, Goldberg have 18 victory in a row right now (no joke 7 of which were against Bam Bam)
