The wcw that started the wrestling boom is really starting to take shape now. Great cruiserweights good tag teams, packed arenas and of course the nwo invasion really starting to heat up. All these elements blended together so well and it made wcw the best

When I used to have most of the Nitros from 1996 on VHS, I watched the Sting/Luger Outsiders main event probably over 100 times. I recorded over most of those Nitros later on (I have since recovered them all thankfully), but I made sure to keep the tape with this Nitro on it. This match is a HUGE part of my childhood. WCW for Life!!

I remember attending the Raw tapings in Seattle. I had no idea it was for a full month worth of TV and just thought I got lucky that the show went that long. I remember being both impressed by Farooq and confused by what he was wearing. i don't remember there ever being an explanation of why he wore that outfit. I have a feeling it was a rib from Vince making him wear that at the beginning of his WWF run.

In fact, the memorable visuals and strong gimmicks actually helped them draw in fans who wouldn't watch a minute of NWA/WCW on the Superstation. It was like they were all living action figures. So Vince pulled a Vince. And if there's one thing Vince knows, it's accidentally stumbling onto a good formula and then destroying it through tone deaf repetition.
