Reliving The War takes a look at every match and every promo from the "Monday Night War" period of professional wrestling. WWF Raw and WCW Nitro would air on Monday Nights and fans had to choose which show they wanted to watch with Raw airing on the USA Network and Nitro broadcasting live on TNT. This series compares both shows to see who really had the best episode on a weekly basis.
The WWF are one night removed from "In Your House: It's Time" where Bret Hart failed to win the WWF Championship. The Hitman gets a little promo time this week and Bret says theres no rules anymore in the WWF. Bret watches the opening Steve Austin vs Vader match from the commentary desk. Elsewhere on Raw, Bart and Billy Gunn have a singles match that ends in controversy, and the Karate Fighters tournament comes to an end in the middle of the ring.
This week's episode of WCW Nitro sees the nWo gain 2 new members. Sting is in the building and he confronts Rick and Scott Steiner again, and Hollywood Hogan also sends a message to his upcoming Starrcade opponent Roddy Piper. The Outsiders compete in the main event this week when they battle Meng and The Barbarian.
00:00 - Nitro's first 60 minutes
05:47 - Sid vs HHH / Flair & Piper Promos
08:55 - Goldust vs Bart Gunn / Jericho vs Eaton
12:38 - Jesse James vs Bradshaw & Zebekiah
17:02 - Arn Anderson vs Criag Pittman
19:54 - Bret Hart Promo / DDP vs Double J
23:56 - Roddy Piper Promo
26:26 - Undertaker vs Mankind
30:17 - Final Results

I want to look up when Raven and the Flock make their debut but I don't want to spoil it. I know the Flock didn't really get over but as a kid I thought they were cool, at least half of them like Raven, Kidman and Saturn. Riggs fit the look too, shame that boy didn't get over.

99-01 were great years of Wrestling for me(except for WCW in 2000 that sucked lol). WWF in 2000 was excellent and WWF 2001 was decent to above average for the whole year especially after WM 17, but the Invasion Angle after SummerSlam or Unforgiven 2001 was disappointing but way better than anything from WWE 2019 to now. Reviewing Retro Raw’s and Smackdown’s from February-December 2001(Up to the July 23rd Raw is War after Invasion now, I will do a video review for my KZbin Channel on July 27th). Also, going back and watching/reviewing the WWF PPV’s from January 2001-May 2002, up to SummerSlam 2001(already watched it some weeks ago).

I died laughing at the Karate Fighters video with Creed's "My Sacrifice" song in the background. I swear if some jobber gets injured, Wrestling Bios should hype up their return with U2's "Beautiful Day" which was used to hype Triple H's return before he came back in 2002.

Only a couple of weeks left. I think 97 was the greatest year for pro wrestling ever. So much going on and the whole landscape of the business and what each company were offering, especially WWF, changed dramatically. I know the war started in 95. However 97 was when it really took off.

97 and 98 are peak of wrestling. ecw,wcw and wwf were great. 98 is peak of quality then it starts declining from 99
@martynodonnell8467
@martynodonnell8467 3 жыл бұрын
@@ShubhamMishrabro yeah the booking from both WCW and WWF wasn’t as strong during 99 as it had been during 97 and 98. WWF did get back on top with the booking during 2000 though. Much of the booking by WWF during 99 focused on the McMahons. WCW seemingly didn’t know how to or didn’t want to make new stars. They still had the NWO storyline going on during 99. Although they had a solid mid card. No one was getting pushed. The same wrestlers that were on top during 96, were mostly the same stars still on top during 99. They weren’t evolving with the times and got very stale. They had few fresh ideas. Therefore started going downhill, during the later half of 98 into 99.

Bischoff and all of the NWO played the crowd so well. The arrogance of Eric as he walks to the ring is perfect. Ignoring all the trash just makes people hate him more and throw more stuff at him. Most companies would hate this happening but WCW almost made it part of the show and it made fans so much more invested in the characters and storyline

My long comment regarding Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy was from the heart because he was very talented, a great guy in real life according to many, and a family man. I met Michael P.S. Hayes in Boston a day before WrestleMania XlV and posed in a picture doing the "Freebird Salute" (Fist outward with knuckles forward) which was a huge honor as well as becoming an honorary Freebird. That was one of the biggest honors in my life next to becoming a Union SAG-AFTRA actor/performer shortly after. I meant no disrespect to you, or your channel, just we've lost so many legends then and recently - it's bittersweet.
