The most important fact to note is that if juicing gets tedious and your juicer spends more time in your pantry than in use, you’ll get NO nutrition. I have two Nama 2 juicers and couldn’t be happier!!!!!!!

My head can't wrap around this, so please help me out- You made a video of the Pure juicer vs Nama J2 where you juiced pineapple. The amount of yield was almost the same. Despite the pulp for Pure being dried out. Yet here you did it by hand and it had SIGNIFICANTLY more yield than the Nama J2. How is that possible??? How is it that Pure yielded the same as the Nama, but here doing it by hand produced far more juice than the Nama?

@@benm6615 I figured out the issue- in the video where the amounts were equal, he did not break up the pineapple through the processor. He instead just cut large slices of the pineapple. Whereas in this video, he did process/blend the pineapple before squeezing it by hand.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 5 ай бұрын
There are several reasons for the difference: 1. FIRMNESS of the PINEAPPLE. This pineapple was softer in this episode and did not juice as well in the Nama J2 as the pineapple juiced when I juiced with the pure that was more FIRM. 2. The video I made J2 vs Pure I also juiced the SKIN which helps the Nama J2 work better as I was juicing an ORGANIC pinapple. 3. I juiced pineapple in the Pure by PRESSING ALONE without grinding (as Pure shows HOW to juice pineapple online), this effectively reduced the yield a little. 4. The blendtec vacuum blender with VOID LID PULVIERIZES the produce and releases MORE JUICE than even the pure juicer grinder without the oxidation damage.

@@maxezragreenberg Hey sorry to hear about your experience about the product(s) that you have purchased based on my videos that did not work out from you. I want to clarify some points on my end regarding your comment. 1. I do not accept ANY money to make a video on this youtube channel. No company can pay me to give them a favorable review. 2. In many cases, I do get FREE juicers or equipment to make videos with, but that does not influence my videos on what I will say. 3. In some cases I go out an purchase juicers or equipment with my money so I can make videos about them. 4. If you purchase from discountjuicers.com or use one of my affiliate link, I will earn some money that allows me to continue to make my work possible. 5. If you purchase directly from me at discountjuicers.com and any customer EVER has a problem with one of the juicers that broke due to no fault of their own, during the warranty period, I will ENSURE the company takes care of you, if they don't when you contact them. (If you don't purchase from me, you will need to deal with the manufacturer directly to address any warranty claims). 6. Most of the machines I recommend have LOING warranties, so if a machine should break, it should be covered under warranty if you purchased it NEW. If you purchased it used, it will not have a warranty. I do recommend purchasing new juicers if you can afford it for this warranty benefit that can be as long as 15 years on some of the models I recommend. 7. I test many juicers and recommend many things in my videos. When I compare one juicer against another, I will always prefer one over the other, and I will state the reasons in the specific video, that being said, some of the machines I recommend in a single video while may perform well in that specific video shares nothing about its long term durability. 8. Almost all the juicers I test are plastic, plastic can be prone to breakage. When I make a single video about a new machine, it is impossible to know how durable that machine will be over time, until it is out in the market for some time, and I have used it more, or I get customer feedback. 9. I have seen some of the juicers that I like in a specific video have durability problems over time. For example, while the shine juicer was my favorite low cost juicer (and travel juicer) for a period of time, the screen is prone to cracking especially if you use it too hard. I have also seen issues with Kuvings B6000,C7000 the bowl top cracking, along with omega horizontal auger juicer screen breakage. I have also seen solostar 4 juicer body housing cracking. I saw major issues with the nc1000/mm900 models with drum cap breakage. At the time I made some of the videos with these machines I was not aware about the issues with these machines. When they are really bad I will warn people: See kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGO0eoGiob-ImpY However, if you personally ask me over email, I am glad to share which machines are more durable than others. So it is important to not just watch one video or the first videos I make about a product. I take MANY factors into account such as durability when making videos that I will discuss in future videos with the product (some I just stop making videos about, if they are problematic) 10. There is the "unknown' factor to consider, some customers will NEVER have a problem with the above listed machines, because what is OUT of my control is how the customer USES the machine. Some customers are more "hard" on the juicers than others. When I demo and show my videos, I show the optimal way to use the juicers, which including cutting things properly, and slowing down when feeding. Some customers may not duplicate the way I show how to use the machines, in which case, more stress can be put onto the machines, causing breakage that others may not experience. 11. No Juicer is perfect. Every juicer has its own pros and cons. Some companies are better than others at addressing and correcting problems with their machines, where some companies will continue to sell the same juicer with known issues. I favor companies that work on continually improving their machines to ensure the customer has the best experience. On this front, that is where I can say Nama leads the pack from what I have seen. 12. If you want a juicer that does not break, get the pure juicer. It will set you back $2500, but is a 80 pound stainless steel beast. I also make videos about it as well. The pro of that machine is that is probably the most durable machine I sell. I would love to learn more about the specific juicer(s) you purchased and the specific issues you had with them, as well as the specific recipes you were juicing that caused the damage, so I can try to figure out what is going on in your situation.

@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
Normally people making sorbet are vegan, so they wont add condensed milk. That being said, I don't see a problem with pouring in a little milk with you add the frozen fruit to process with the sorbet maker. That being said, it might be easiest just to stir it into the sorbet once the sorbet is made. That being said, I encourage you to select the RIPEST fruit, such as bananas, which are quite sweet on their own, without adding anything! If you need to add a sweetener I would recommend string in some date sugar, which is basically dried and powdered date fruits.

EDIT: I'm also curious if the nutrition saved from vacuum blending is lost when the juice is then exposed to the air for so long while being hand squeezed through a bag? I understand that less oxidation is occuring during the blending, but are all of those broken cells then just oxidized once the lid is taken off of the blender? Thanks again, I'm just trying to understand and make the best decision. Is there anyway to incorporate the two devices? Say begin with the vacuum blend, then put that into the Nama... or would that just create a sludgy mess? Would it negate the effects of the vacuum blending and lowered dissolved O2?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
It is true that some air is added to the juice when squeezing the alexas bag. That being said, IMO I believe it is STILL more nutritious because there are more antioxidants in the pulp mash because you did grind under vacuum and they are in the mixture to help reduce oxidation as you squeeze the bag. I can taste the difference when I vac blend/squeeze vs use a slow juicer, the vacuum juice always tastes more vibrant to me. Adding the blended mixture to the nama to extract will add MORE oxygen to the juice than hand squeezing, and you also may end up with a mess, as the nama may not effectively deal with all pulp slurries, if they are not fiberous enough and too soft. I do not recommend doing that.

Is it normal that when you juice pure apples (that might not be completely hard/firm) or ripe and therefore juicy and soft melons, that the juice that comes out of the nama has a thicker consistency with more pulp...basically something in between a juice and a smoothie? I have the sana 727 too and there i have significant less pulp in the juice, when juicing soft/ripe items, than with my huromh320n (which is practically the same as the nama j2). Since you mentioned in the comparison video between the nama and the sana, that you experienced less pulp in the juice with the nama, i am wondering why for me it seems to be the opposite?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
Yes, soft fruits make more of a "sauce" consistency than a juice. That is where the Pure Juicer or Using the Vacuum Blender + Alexas bags comes into play, it makes a more watery juice since it holds back that soft pulp that slow juicers have a problem removing when a fruit is softer. Furthermore, the 727 juice will be more thick than a Vertical Juicer such as the Nama J2. Fruits with higher pectin content such as apples tend to make a more thick juice than say pineapple or cucumbers.

the complete void system is equivalent to using the vitamix void solution, as it is the SAME carafe. However, the vitamix motor base is more powerful/durable than the void motor base. For testing, I hand squeezed the pulp in alexas bag, and then I put the contents of the bag in a press cloth and pressed it in the $2500 pure juicer (that presses HARDER) than the Welles press, and got 1/2 ounce more out (was pressing turmeric pomegranate ginger juice). So I would say if you have good hand strength, save the money and don't buy the press, which is more difficult and time-consuming to use. Furthermore when you use a press cloth of the welles or pure, you LEAVE MORE nutrients in the pulp because the pore size of the bag is much smaller than the hole size of alexas bag. Alexas bags should NOT be put into a press. Why? I tried it and it GROUND in pulp so bad, I couldn't clean it and had to throw it away.

First off, I think John is great and I appreciate all his work and channels. He really helped me when I was choosing my juicer. I watched all I could about vacuum blending then earlier this year I bought the void system using John's code of course. However, real world experience makes me think it's a waste of money. The void blendtec style jug is inferior to the vitamix jug. It blends about 500ml less than the vitamix and it doesn't have a pouring spout so there is way more spillage. The void lid also sucks liquid into it every time regardless of how full the jug is, which is really difficult to clean out and becomes a health hazard in my opinion. It smells awful since you can not get all of it out. I do not know if this affects the electronics and the actual vacuum ability or not. The lid is also super difficult to get off so using the void system, cleaning, including trying to to remove the sucked up liquid, takes way longer than the vitamix. I never noticed any difference between my smoothies made with the vitamix jug v void jug. Same amount of foam and there was still separation after some time. Same goes for nut milk. In fact, I would argue the void jug did not blend almonds and cashews as well as the vitamix. Further, you still can't vacuum blend small amounts in the void jug so you have to pull the lid off, move stuff around, and vacuum seal it again. Pain the arse. Or you can use the void tamper and non-vacuum lid. I have not seen John talk about this (maybe he has), but the void non-vacuum lid is the worst lid design ever! It is so full of nooks and crannies that gets food in it that you can't get out with a spatula so you're just rinsing food down the sink. Whoever designed that one should definitely be fired. In my opinion, save your money and stick to your nama and vitamix. You've already got a great combo.

@@anne-marie5135 Sorry to hear about your experience with the void Vitamix kit. I wanted to share my comments: 1. YES, the void carafe for Vitamix is smaller than the 64-ounce carafe of the Vitamix. The carafe is 48 ounces. This may be a pro or con depending on how you view it. 2. I like to pour off the corner of the void systems carafe and I have never had a problem with drips. 3. YES. it is true that liquid can get sucked into the void systems lid when blending. This can be avoided/reduced by the following methods: a. Don't overfill the carafe, if you fill near the top, and turn the blender on, the mixture will hit the top, and the vacuum pump will suck it thru. b. Once you achieve the desired vacuum level, simply turn the void lid OFF. it will maintain a level of vacuum during blending, and NOT continue to suck a vacuum while you are blending, so you won't get anything in the lid/motor pumps 4. The VOID systems lid was DESIGNED to suck liquids through it without damaging the lid. 5. If you overfill the carafe and the void lid sucks liquid thru the lid, I recommend running clean water thru the lid while running when done blending. So I take the lid and turn it on, while I put it under the faucet and purposely pump water thru the vacuum pump to keep it all clean. 6. Whether you vacuum blend or not, separation will still occur over time. However, generally non-vacuum blended mixtures separate much more quickly. 7. While Void does include a traditional lid and tamper, I am not a fan of them myself. I do not like the design of the lid and nooks and crannies as you point out. To me the benefit of the void vitamix kit is the vacuum blending, so I rarely ever use their lid to blend with 8. The void systems carafe has a different blade design than the vitamix carafe for sure. Some people love the vitamix blade, and some love the void systems blade.

@@discountjuicers thank you for your response. It's good to know that the lid can suck liquid into it without damage. I have not heard you mention it for void, but I have heard you say don't do it for other systems. Like I said, it doesn't matter if I overfill or not, it still pretty much happens to me every time. However, I will turn it off once vacuum is reached and try your cleaning method. I was reluctant to try that since I didn't know if running water while turned on would damage it or not. As for using the non vacuum lid, I've only used it when stuff is already in there and will not blend using the vacuum lid. Otherwise I stick to the vitamix. Thanks again for all your work. I really do appreciate it.

Please be sure to tell people whenever you mention jicama to PEEL the jicama. Since you never mentioned it, I never did it, and I'd still be doing it if I hadn't specifically asked you about it and you told me that the peel had stuff that I shouldn't be ingesting.

The taste is what is important. Blender juicing does not taste the same as my slow masticating juicer.. I have a Vitamix right now.

Vitamix does not pull a vacuum. it infuses oxygen with your produce. this causes your produce to oxidize faster so it's basically fermenting in front of you. not bad if you really like sweet stuff but from what I understand from John Kohler, it's substantially depletes nutrition. The key to this video is the blendtec vacuum lid.

Yea but you could have squeezed most of that juice out just putting it in the bag and squeezing and bypassed the blender.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
While that would squeeze out some juice, the yield would NOT be as much, nor would the juice be as nutritious, because the cell walls of the produce are not broken open as much with hand squeezing vs using a vacuum blender.

The Nama J2 clean-up takes me 4-5 minutes. Of course, the blender and bag will take less time than that.

What about that blender? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ_Og2CLaayhidE Offcourse there will be needed some kind of extra vacuum adapter. Maybe less work with squeezeing? No bags.

Sometimes its seems that my Nama J2 doesnt extract the white pith when im making orange Juice. Could you throw me some tips on how I can extract the pith of my orange juice in the nama?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers Жыл бұрын
The pith tends to get more Mashed than juiced in the nama j2, due to the design of the juicer. However the J2 will extract the juice from some of the white put for sure, not as much as a vacuum blender for sure. To get a better exaction: 1. If you can pre-grind it first, it will be more effective. 2. if you juice it with some root veggies, such as jicama or carrot, it will help it to work better.
