tim lubbers Good feedback. The 500x RR is what got me started looking and I’ve moved to wanting an ATAS. So interesting perspective. I hadn’t pulled the trigger on either. I’d be on something now but I’m Coronumeployed. Maybe next year.

@J D heavier isn't such a bad thing, I just found myself a couple of times where I was nackered, and couldn't lift the bike till I took down some carbs, water and rested for 20-30 minutes...at almost 60years old and riding solo most of the time, the weight and the height caused problems for me...
@timlubbers28844 жыл бұрын
@J D yup, I would be interested in a "mini Africa Twin" as well ... It would just have to be substantially lighter, as my 500 RR can carry me anywhere I want at this point ...

I really love the idea of using those huge litre+ ADVs to do pleasant dirt trail riding with a passenger. For solo riding I still think it's massive overkill and my choice would be a 690/701 primarily because of the independence afforded in terms of even more challenging terrain and if you drop the bike in an awkward place. All looks like great fun though and props to those who can hustle their big GS/KTM/AT up and down those more gnarly inclines!

The trails. Tiger 900. For ease of riding really a standard AT would be the easiest but the new 900 tiger is smashing. Little squimy but so good now. The ATAS was great when it came to comfort and distance and the suspension is better than the tiger 800

Steve_Kamrad Another amazing video, man. I bought a dual sport at the end of the autumn last year. I was so excited for spring to hit to start riding it off road a bunch. Just as the snow started to melt this Covid-19 business hit. Like you, I’m doing the responsible thing by staying home and not riding. It’s killing me, though! Videos like this help a LOT. Getting to ride and explore off road areas vicariously through you really helps me keep my sanity despite being indoors 23.5 hours a day. Some of the spots you hit in this ride were super beautiful, and some were pretty sketchy looking. Thanks so much for making high quality and entertaining content. Whew, I’m tired.
