The micro bearings are more for lower inertia to cast light lures, but not for distance. With the roro spool in my alphas air two I get the best results on 12-14 brake. Im actually more impressed with the chameleon spool in my tatula sv reel. I feel the stock alphas air spool is better, but I do like how shallow the roro when spooling up ultra light lines. Great video

Yes I find that to be the case for most of my reels so far when it comes from micro vs standard sizes. I think for most of my fishing, I will not need Micros. will probably stick to standard size if i really need distance. But if I want smooth casting at ease and not a care in the world for distance, that micro is actually pretty darn nice. Im getting older now lol... want least amount of fatigue. plus kayak fishing is a strain!!!!! thx for watching bud!

Yes! Go back to the stock spool! To me it seemed to cast just as far as the roro spool, and with less fuzz and blowups... Why cant roro and amo just make movable inductors on these superlight spools? It would just have been 0.5gram or so heavier. The advantage of the movable inductor is that it is breaking heavy at the start of the cast to avoid the initial blowup, and then the brake tapers off towards the end of the cast! To me it seems that the advantage of the lighter spool weight is eaten up by having a fixed conductor. Tight lines!

I definitely wanna go stock and spend some time. Perhaps try the roro bearings on the stock spool for some dry bearing casts. I would love to see that for sure. The chameleon spool for my tatula was amazing. I think it is easier for them to design a spool with a fixed induction cup and turn it into a regular magnetic braking reel as I have gotten a crappy spool with a cup that sticks and won't shoot out. I am scared to take the reel out in the kayak but I may have to soon! Bite is getting hot!

@@rawrfishing Im waiting for the 28 and 30mm versions of the cameleon brand. their 34mm steez version is 6.6 gram , what will a 28mm spool be? under 4 gram with bearing? lol! How about testing some quality braid on the alphas as well? i see people praising berkley x9, nano, and nanofil in other forums... And at last, please go snakehead bfs frogging again! that was a fun video.

Alot of the initial blow ups are due to wrong line and over spooling. If you use stiff line and over spool it, it will always blow up regardless of spool.

​@@zajdabneeg definitely need lighter line if one wants to throw that trout magnet. I have zero desire to do so... just showing people what I do with my normal 4lb test line. I very enjoy the spool fishing it 4lb line with my typical lures.

Gonna mess with what i have first. braided line are expensive lol... I can try to frog for some snakeheads but they have started hitting lower and also later on the days. It truly depends. If you need to go the lightest lure possible.. Hybrid. If being small is enough, stainless steel is higher and will have more momentum for longer spins.

Thanks!! I am seeing someone on KZbin cast the Troutmagnet 50 feet or so, supposedly, with a Trout Magnet, and the Aldebaran with Avail spool. I expected you to at least match of exceed that. Would you happen to have the Adebaran and Avail combo?

Because there's too many reel companies lol. Hedgehog studio should have accurate info. I don't know on top of my head. If I didn't say it in this video, then I'm sorry. I don't remember all or any bearing sizes for my reels lol!

Man, those roro spools with a fixed magned are crap. I've tried multiple ones with fixed rotor and compared them with non-fixed rotor. For fixed ones you always get overruns, bird nests, etc. doesn't matter what weight of the lure was. For non-fixed rotor the issues are almost non-existant.

So far I feel that it is true for the tatula reel. I tried the spool and also the chameleon one recently that does utilize the mag force braking and it was night and day. I think its time to go back to my stock spool and play around.

Given that I was running my brakes at mostly 10 out of 20, if you get the standard one, which is thinner, that means you will be running your brakes higher. The drop in weight might help you with casting a trout magnet better, but I would have to buy one in order to know. I don't think I would since I would rather get a shallow spool spinning reel for a trout magnet setup.

I don't think is your rod, if you're used heavy line like 4lbs line not gonna work well with the trout magnet, you need 2lbs line, i know because i try before

Dude So far, I’ve found my spool inductor stuck at extended position. Move it back to the original position and hasn’t try casting yet since I noticed the issue last Sunday. With the spool moving forward during casting, I guess the inductor spin backwards due to inertia and it’s where it got stuck at extended position. It’s my first time noticing it. Prior to last Sunday, every time I remove the side plate, the inductor is at its resting position What could be the issue? Would buying the roro solve the problem?

Well roro spool doesn't move for the spool. It doesn't fix the issue but it can turn your reel into a normal magnetic braking system. It is a good option if your stock spool is broken. You should check the side plate to see any debris in it. Same with the cup. Then take apart your spool braking system and assess the spring. Did it rust? Did it break? Did something get stuck? I love the mag force z yet I also hate it. I dipped my reel in water and sand got in and it hinders the breaking immediately. Something to think about!

Seems like a common problem with the original spool. Have heard other anglers having this issue too. The inductor rotor will get stuck every once in awhile, more so when casting harder to get distance.

The XF-50 isn't really BFS and I have heard that the drag system is paper. it will stop working after a season. With that said, the Black Knight wins!

How did you press the pin out on the spool, my pin removal tool won't fit low enough to push it out.

I havent taken mine off yet! Stock bearings are good. Just need to take it out to clean maybe before the season starts. I would probably suggest finding a higher end pin puller. What are you using now?

I got that too but haven't tried it on that reel. since my spool was "bent" for some reason... i haven't had the chance to settle down yet and give it a shot. i may just leave it stock going forward for that spool. but i have a new spool coming in for the reel so that one will be game ;)
