That pickerel right there is why BFS fishing is addictive.

Sup jimmy, great video, my favorite fishing, multispecies. Love the zman 2.5" swimbaits, I put on with 1/8oz head also but when I find crappie lol, what a day you had, nothing worse than a pickerel slicing hand with all the slime worse than a paper cut lol, you got cut in the worse place. 🎣. The last 2 weeks in RI fishing has been best all year. Tyvm tc

@@rawrfishing I hear ya brother, weather makes it hard to even get out of hospital bed, but when friend or brother can take me fishing I wake up at midnight cuz takes long time to be able to go lol, 30th surgery is scheduled late Nov but isn't spine. Where you fish can you sit on bank for a video? I imagine your in pain after day in kayak with back and knees. 🙏 Go easy even if have to paddle👊

At least u still got time to enjoy the fall bite! Where I live sucks for bank fishing. Too close to cities and heavy populated area. Slow unlike my kayak vids. I have a lake close to home but it's terrible. I just kayaked it and it was... Nothing like the lakes I fish down south jersey and away from the crowd lol. So I rather spend time with the kiddo if I can't fish. He's gonna go montessori school soon so I can fish then!

@@rawrfishing totally understand, there is only few places here can bank fish, and I can't walk more than about 50ft, my brother takes me on his boat when can, even our club pond only can bank fish 120yds, it's 3acre pond but unaccessible, they only allow canoes or kayaks and can't do either, son must be 2 by now right?

@@ronaldyeater3322 yeah man that sounds rough. but being on a boat is always the best :) today nailed over 100 fish again! mainly crappies today, and they were eating big 3 inch swimbaits! yeah my son is 2, almost 3 :)

Great catch!!! I don’t k ow why people complain about Pickerrell and pike, I’m from Southern California we don’t have those species over here. I would love to catch a them thought, looks like fun.

Thx mate! They sure take lures! I lost a few.. But I think if ppl are prepared to encounter some, they won't lose as much lures. Maybe get a finger cut or two 😂. Try traveling a bit! If anything, Florida got so many species that it is worth a trip, even if it's a 2 day on foot trip around Miami.... Peacock bass and many more!

Awesome video man, I got that ultra light kastking Zephyr rod to match my Zephyr reel which reminds me thanks for the hook up on the link to the only dude selling them in the US. I really appreciate it. I’m just getting back into hardcore fishing after quitting in the early 90’s to raise a family and now I’m retired and can focus all my time on what seems like 100 new fishing techniques UGH! It’s a bit overwhelming at times but your videos help a lot. Also, what line combo would you recommend for that Zephyr combo? Because it definitely is “ ultra light” lol. So just wanted to thank you man, great job and thanks for the cool, helpful videos. Happy fishing my man!

thanks man! I think for most people, 4lb mono would suffice for the zephyr. the brakes on that is a bit low and the gap between the spool and the body is a nightmare if u go thin braid and backlash. the line can get trapped into the reel, which really does stink. I would probably prefer to use my Zephyr bfs reel for Light rather than the UL side since the reel doesn't do 1/16th oz that well. i find it best 2.5 grams and up. I hope to see KastKing bring out more rods, but for now, Tsurinoya rods that are sold at Bait Finesse Empire can suffice as they are great quality and at amazing prices. I think if KastKing ever bring more rods out, it'll likely be on the Kestrel Line up and it will likely be... 200 or more? pricey!

Right on man, great info and yes I have already discovered the spool gap issue and have done everything you mentioned and Thank goodness because I was pretty pissed off about that issue but it’s a kick ass lightweight reel. I’ve had nothing but fun and amazing performance using as just LW rig. I appreciate your videos and feedback so much. You know your shit!! Thank you for everything man!!

Good timing. Just ordered a slx bfs for more beefier fishing like ned rigs and slightly larger snack sized swimbaits for bass. Was considering what size line to use. 8 lb braid looks good. Any thoughts on rod selection? Hoping for a two piece rod or more since one piece rods are more difficult to pack with a kiddo in the backseat. These days I’m having to sneak fishing sessions whenever I can. I have a tsurinoya dragon light which is two piece, but not sure if that’s gonna be stout enough for larger baits. I don’t see many ML two piece rods.
@rawrfishing2 жыл бұрын
There's no better time to get the slx bfs right now due to the Yen going down. Excellent choice for ned rigging too! 8 lbs American braid should be fine. U should have ample of room and for typical ned rig jigs and weight, it should fly! Rods can be a L leaning toward ML for Open style ned hooks. For weedless Thicker hooks, I would suggest ML. The flock or bass weedless ned jigs seems to be thick and heavy.. Meant for cover.. So even Thicker line would work, but as the cooler weather comes, I focus on open jigs. The dragon is definitely good for the open hook jigs!
@rawrfishing2 жыл бұрын
And yeah I don't see much 2 piece ML rods either, I can see if there are any good ones Tsu have and potentially ask BFE to stock em
@lw71282 жыл бұрын
@@rawrfishing yeah was hoping to find something suitable for the lifted weedless neds as well as some Jika style ewg rigs. But maybe I’ll play around with the dragon and see what it can do. I saw tsurinoya has the partner which looks like a nice travel rod, but still seems like not enough backbone for setting the hook.
@rawrfishing2 жыл бұрын
not familiar with that rod right there,, but I would look for something at least Fast tip. They got so many rods that I haven't tried yet lol... perhaps i'll get some bass and snakehead rods for next season.. that be fun to explore yeah?

How much was your kayak?
@rawrfishing2 жыл бұрын
Maybe around 3.2k after everything, but The price is not relevant today since it's 7 years old. You can check the price of the latest hobie outback! All I have added is a fish finder, the mounts that required to install that and the battery, and lastly a phone mount. Some folks may want more than that!
