Scoring - MJ Clutch - MJ Steals - MJ Defence - MJ (9 all defensive team + DPOY) Rings - MJ MVP - MJ Finals MVP - MJ Free throw - MJ Assists - Lebron Rebounds - Lebron Turnovers - Lebron Everyone seems to say Lebron's bigger/faster/stronger, only bigger is true. He's not faster, and he's not much stronger as Robert Horry, Ron Artest have said. Also this myth of Lebron makes everyone better, go ask Chris bosh and Kevin Love if they got better, no they got reduced to role playing 3 point spot up shooters and scapegoats when Lebron lost. Also no one seems to notice, at the end of the game, refs count POINTS to determine Win or Loss, not rebounds, not assists, not triple doubles, those things don't matter and don't impact the game the way points and scoring does. MJ impacts the game DIRECTLY in the most raw way, lebron wants to impact the game in everyway but forgets him getting a triple double means nothing to winning the game. Let his big man get rebounds, let his point guards get assists, don't be so selfish with stat padding.

Last statement cannot be any closer to the truth. I've seen people call Lebron the goat just because he does more off the court and wants to be friendly with everyone. I literally lose brain cells everytime. The moment people start factoring that into their argument I know they already lost, cause it meant they ran out of valid ammunition.

also Lebron when he gets tired, because of his size and inferior stamina and endurance compared to Jordan he disappears and needs to be benched, but because it's Lebron, people give him a pass. Jordan played through sickness and tiredness unlike anyone else. Lebron will end up with higher stats in the end, but it isn't just about stats. Otherwise Stockton would be considered the best point guard of all time and Bill Russell would be the goat if we went off just titles. But to be the goat, you have to be excellent at everything and transcend eras and not just have favourable circumstances carry you like Russell and Lebron for example, and even to an extent players like Magic and Bird who benefited greatly from playing with greatest teams of their time. Jordan built a team around him completely from the ground up and developed Pippen into a Hall of Famer and helped Rodman end up in the Hall of Fame, when his career was looking like it was done. And Jordan was as close to perfection as you can get in a basketball player, all around. Lebron has too many categories where he just doesn't measure up to Jordan, and this is purely on Basketball abilities, performance, applicable knowledge and mindset, not just stats. If you just go off stats, yeh you would think Lebron is greatest, but then you also have to consider how you go about getting those stats, the culture and rule changes of the sport in that era. Jordan played in toughest two decades of the sport, the 80s and 90s. Lebron plays in arguably the softest and easiest NBA ever. And they still need to team up with at least two other superstars to win titles. He had to join up with two players that were the best players on their own respective teams, twice to win his titles, and he still lost more than he won. I think he is instantly disqualified from the discussion on that alone.

Jordan vs LeBron After Lebron's 14th season. Michael Jordan has: •3 more rings •3 more final mvps •1 more DPOY •1 more season MVP •9 more scoring titles •3 more steals leader •3 more all defensive team selections •4000 more points / Lebron moved past him in playoff points, but it took him longer. •800 more steals •Beat 20 50+ win teams in the playoffs (Lebron only defeated 10) •Jordan never averaged less than 40% Field Goal in the finals Lebron did it twice •6/6 (never allowed a game 7) •Lebron had much more offensive help, example: Jordan never had a teammate average more than 22 points in the finals.. In fact, Mj is Only player in NBA history to lead a team to the championship with only one teammate averaging double figures in scoring * In the Bulls’ 1997 playoff run, Scottie Pippen averaged 19 points per game on 42% shooting. All other teammates of Jordan averaged under 8 points per game Kyrie averaged over 28 and DWade averaged more than 26 •MJ never ever had a finals meltdown like Lebron in 2011 against the Mavs •MJ had more points in the playoffs in less games.. MJ accomplished all of this in 13 seasons Lebron after his 14th season, is still chasing the “ghost (GOAT) that played in Chicago” •Michael Jordan in the playoffs has put up atleast 40ppg, 5rpg, 5apg in 6 different playoff series. Along with an average of about 55% shooting, 3spg and 2bpg. (86 vs bos, 89 vs cavs, 90 vs philly, 92 vs Miami, 93 vs Phoenix, 88 vs cavs) Jordan won every one of those matchups except for the 1986 matchup vs the celtics. •Jordan in 88-89 averaged 32ppg, 8apg, 8rpg, 3spg off 54% shooting. LeBron has never even came close to this stat line. •in 87 thru 92, MJ averaged 5 straight seasons of atleast 51% FG shooting. LeBron has never done this. •the lowest FT% MJ ever shot in a season was 78%. Lebrons highest in a season ever is 78%. •MJ has a higher playoff FG% of 48.7% to Lebrons 48.3% •MJ has a higher playoff player efficiency rating of 28.6 to Lebrons 27.3. •MJ shoots a higher playoff 3 point percentage of 33.2% to Lebrons 32.9% •LeBron James has scored 30 points, 416 times in 1,117 games. Michael Jordan did it 562 times in 1,072 games. Jordan won 6 championships without losing a final in 1,072 games and LeBron in 1,117 games has lost 5 times and has only won 3 times (updated 2018) •MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year.. •Mj also has more career blocks (893) than Lebron James (853) despite playing in 22 LESS career games and being the smaller guy. Also, MJ averaged 1.6 blocks per game in the 1987-88 season which is absolutely bonkers for a 6’6″ shooting guard. Seriously this list can keep going. This isn’t even a debate. Mj is the GOAT. MIchael Jordan: •NBA record 5 playoffs series’ averaging atleast 40ppg •Only player in history to lead league in scoring and win DPOY •Highest scoring average, points per game, in any championship series: 41.0 vs. Phoenix Suns, 1993 NBA Finals •Only rookie in NBA history to lead his team in four statistics (1984-85) •Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring, win Most Valuable Player, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season (1987-88) •Only player in history to average at least 30pts 6reb 5assists And 2 steals per game AND HE DID IT 7 TIMES. •Only player in NBA history to win Rookie of the Year (1984-85), Defensive Player of the Year (1987-88), NBA MVP (1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98), All-Star MVP (1988, 1996, 1998), and Finals MVP (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998) •Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring and win the NBA championship MORE THAN ONCE in the same season * He did this SIX TIMES!! (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98) •One of two players in NBA history to score 3,000 points in a season: 3,041 points scored in 82 games played (37.1 ppg) (1986-87) * Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player to achieve this. •MJ is also the only player in NBA history to score over 40 points at age 40, and he did it twice! •In 1988, MJ earned: Dunk Champ, All Star Game MVP, NBA Scoring Title, League MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls: -10 scoring titles, -Won Defensive Player of the Year, -9 times all defensive team, -9time All NBA, -5 league MVPs -6 finals MVPs All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career… Two 3-peats 6-0 in the finals Never played a game 7 Jordan's the "ultimate closer" LeBron was just swept 0-4 in the finals

meg to add... uncontested Rebounds &layups are more frequent now. When centers/forwards are now pulled out to 3 point line. True Assist is when a player scores off your pass. If the player has to dribble (create) or avoid an opposing player, therefore he create his own shoot. MJ rebounds & layups were contest with 7 ft center & 6-8 PFs in the paint. And there was a such thing as illegal defense then were you had to get back to your man or commit to a double team. LBJ plays in between (passing and rebound lanes) which would have been called for illegal defense. New rules to now allow position-less basketball. More so to high player deficiencies. this is do to some many top picks are coming out of HS. College was for players to learn to play in a system before coming into the league. I watched Jordan through his entire career. People talk stats when comparing other players like LeBron to him. But Jordan, during the regular season, looked to his teammates early in the games to find the hot player(s) that night. If nobody else stepped up that night, Jordan took over and did his thing. If Pippen or Kukoc or whoever was hot that night, Jordan sat back. That's an aspect of Jordan's play style and on-court leadership that rarely gets discussed. Jordan coasted through a lot of regular season games, probably partly due to saving his stamina for the playoffs, partly due to spreading the wealth so to speak, and partly due to realizing the franchise would be less successful if it relied too much on one individual. If Jordan had focused on career points/stats instead of doing what needed to happen to win the games, his career stats would be MUCH higher.
@AnHebrewChild4 жыл бұрын
Chris Fuller yes. Jordan was a more developed player in let's say '92 than '87 but it was '87 he averaged 37 ppg. People say, "if Jordan played today he could score 45 a night." In the dicumentary last dance at episode 3 or 4 Phil Jackson said that jordan did that because he told him too..it was part of Jacksons strategy and it was a bit hard for MJ to accept it at first but then Phill convinced him that it was for the teams good and mj accepted. He had them to play in a triangle and they had to pass to each other so whenever was free was able to shoot. A lot of people have also forgotten what Jordan was like when he was young. They see clips from the 90s and think that's prime MJ. In the 80s, Jordan was unlike anything anyone had ever seen. The best way to describe it was "constant pressure" on both ends. He never got tired, and he never stopped attacking on both ends. After a game, the other team looked demoralized, even if they had won. He reminded me of a defense in football who is putting so much pressure on the offense that the QB is mentally shaken and can't even get a pass off because he's seeing ghosts. Or like an offense in football that is just running it down the throat of the defense time after time after time. His later years, he became incredibly good in the midrange and with his footwork, but in the 80s, he crushed the soul of other teams. They were just trying to figure out how to stay in front of him and not allow him to play the passing lanes on defense. Basically, they were playing fearfully.

I'm almost 40 and I've loved MJ from WAY back when. The one thing he did that I tried to replicate in my game when I played (but never could), is he would penetrate the lane, go up for a dunk, see the block coming, transition to a layup, and there would always be at least 3 defenders in the paint, and he would be contorting his body, falling to the ground, and seemingly just chuck the ball up out of desperation....and it would go in. He would do this at least once a game. Every one shows when he switched hands in the '91 Finals but I've seen hundreds of games that man played in and I've seen him do stuff that has NEVER made a KZbin highlight reel and I'm like am I the only one who remembers this?

MJ dropped 30+ in the most physical era EVER. I have always said he'd average 40+ with todays rules, but I'm glad Phil Jackson and Ray proved me wrong! 45+ and they are right. I always said 40 so modern fans wouldn't get butt hurt lol. Bring back hand checks, forearms, and shoulders; and then see what's what. Degree of difficulty man, that always determines the greatness of an accomplishment. The drop in physicality has equated to a lower level of difficulty. It's a fact. Go down to an open gym, drive to the lane with modern rules, then do it again with old rules; and tell me which is easier to score with. Lol such a joke. Anyone that plays ball and is honest knows that getting a shot off with hand checks and forearms is harder. Ray Allen, top 3 shooter of all-time and arguably the greatest coach of all-time in Phil (top 3 for sure) both agree, yet some whack reporter or GM will tell people otherwise and ignorant fans will listen to em. So dumb. Ray Allen is right, and he played with all 3 guys (MJ, Kobe, Lebron). What he say? NOT EVEN CLOSE. Tell em boy. Always been one of my top favorite players Ray 👊😁

@@JahleelX-xx9wd and here we go. 15 years in the league for lebron thus far, compared to Mj's 15 year career. MJ played 71 LESS GAMES by the way. MJ has 1000+ more points. 600+ more STEALS. 3 more all NBA defensive team awards, 1 DPOY award (lebron has 0). MJ also has 3 more rings. 3 more finals mvp awards. 1 more league mvp award. Jordan did all of this in less games. His FT % is also better and their FG % is almost identical. No, hes better than lebron for A LOT of reasons. Did u hear Ray? Jordan was a better shooter, had better footwork, and was a far superior defender. He was a complete 2 WAY PLAYER. So if Jordan was better on offense, and clearly better on defense, and he won a lot more; ya'll wanna talk about assists and rebounds? The only 2 categories lebron beats Jordan in and 2 categories that are not as important as the ones I just listed? Jordan beats lebron in every other category, especially the ones that matter, and he backed it up with winning; the most important category in sports. The reason why "sport" exists, to determine a winner. This argument is getting old. Like Ray said, it ain't close and people need to let this go. Ask current NBA players and retired, ask current coaches and retired; OVER 50% will say MJ the GOAT. The rest will say either Kareem, or Wilt, or Magic, and then Lebron (maybe a few others). The point is, at best the TRUE experts overwhelmingly say MJ is the GOAT. Lebron would b lucky to get 15 % of that vote and i'm being generous. MJ is probably more around 70%. As I always say - MJ is eating the pie while the rest of the greats are fighting over the crumbs. Lebron is great, but Ray Allen is spot on. But what does he know? He's only won 2 rings (one of which lebron needs to thank him for - lebron only has 2 rings without Ray Allen), he holds current shooting records, and to his point he has played with both. Thank u for speaking the truth Ray. Oh and its not a coincidence that almost all advanced analytics say that Jordan was the more efficient player. But yeah, rebounds and assists lol. Let's see "the biggest fastest strongest player we've ever seen" play dominant D against the best players AND win a little more. Then we might have a convo. But he's too old to play D and he's out of time.

@@justkeepcasting lmao. The same bs. Who did mj guard? He guarded small guards and never had a hard task as Durant. Jordan is a better defender but LeBron is more versatile and he has to guard harder players. Offensively they can both do what they want when they want. But LeBron is bigger, stronger, faster, smarter. He has a higher iq, better rebounder, better passer, better 3 point shooter, and he runs his system. He beat a 73-9 team down 3-1 with his system and made them grab the second best player in the world to beat him. Now had they joined forces to beat Jordan he wouldn't be 6-0 in the finals but that's another story. LeBron faced greater competition. And I keep hearing y'all say killer instinct but it don't increase any skill on the court. Mj left the bulls got replaced by Pete Myers and the bulls still won 55 games and made the ecsf and almost ecf if it wasn't for a bogus call. Mj never could do anything without pippen. The first threepeat was better than the second. The second threepeat is overrated. He comes back after the bulls win 55 games, and he clearly had all the help in the world, drops 55 on the best defense in the league aka the knicks and then he chokes vs the magic. People say he swept them next year but that was after grabbing rodman. How can u be the goat if u not even the most valuable to your team compared to other grests? LeBron can do more with less. He has shown that even if he has bums he can still get to the finals, while mj can't and never has. And don't bother with that eastern conference crap. Because we all know east is weaker than the west but if it was so weak I'm confused as to why nobody came to east from the west to beat him. Ray Allen can think what he want just like u can. I have seen damn near all of mj games and highlights on KZbin, I have seen LeBron's entire career up to this point. I think LeBron is better and u not gonna brainwashed me like everybody else. It is not a fact that Jordan is the goat, it is an opinion and that's cool to think that but most people are just brainwashed into thinking that and don't even really think so they just repeating the same things they heard other people say, never seen him play and know nothing about basketball. U can think mj the goat, that's cool but to say it ain't even close, it's blasphemy to compare someone to him, or any of that bs making it seem like mj ain't a damn human being need to stop right now.

I never understood why some people think of Jordan as a weak passer. He averaged 8 assists when he was asked to do so and that was in just his 5th NBA season, when he was not even in his peak in terms of basketball knowledge. After that his role wasn't to pass the ball so he did not develop that part of his game THAT much, but still it is obvious in his assist highlights that he had very good court vision and he also had the passing skill, hang time and basketball IQ - there are many highlight of him jumping faking and passing to an open guy or dishing a pass when doubled with fakes and good timing. Also, I've seen what can count as an assist, some times it's just ridiculous, no defense, open guy, I mean I'm pretty sure if I played in the NBA I could probably dish a couple of assists myself, but I would never be able to drive to the basket.

@@blakelarson5005 Yeah Jerry West ain't no magic Johnson, I mean don't get me wrong the logo was a perfect player but magic made that team ran with magic not kareem. Kareem is not close to being the best LeBron isn't either.

Ray Allen says this as a man who played with and against LeBron in his prime and against Jordan after his prime and he still doesn't hesitate to say Jordan is the GOAT. That's about as clear a perspective as you will get.
