Ray Ban Meta Matt Versus Glossy Black

When I made my initial Ray Ban Meta unboxing and initial thoughts video, I mentioned that I wanted to switch them from the sunglass only version lens to the transition lens which is clear while inside but transitions to sunglasses when outside in the sun.
Well I finally got my new Ray Ban Meta transition lens version so I can now compare the two version in terms of how they look since my Transition Ray Ban Metas have the matt black frames and my Ray Ban Meta Sunglass version has the glossy frames. Both versions look good to me but I think I prefer the matt black frames. I for sure prefer the transition lenses as I want to be able to use my Ray Ban Meta AI Smart Glasses all the time, not just outside in the sun.

Those looking to pick up a pair of these should really only consider one and that's the transitions. If you buy sunglasses that's great for outdoors but what happens when you want to wear them indoors or at night etc Then there's the clear lens option. Same problem great indoors and out but no good in bright sun. Having transitions don't limit where and when I can wear them and thus you'll get more use out of your purchase and not be swapping between pairs constantly.

Those looking for the transition lens option would be best to get the matte black frames with the green transition lens configuration as this is a model pre configured by rayban and available with this setup at retail and online its also a lower price buying this option. If you want different frame colours or lens choices you can do this online but the price increases doing so. I

Apple iPhones work too reading back your messages to you and allowing you to respond via the glasses. I've tested this and it works great 😊

Just left lens crafters today. I own matte black Stories but went with shiny black Metas, with prescription transition lenses. I went with shiny for the price. And the fact that( in my opinion )they look better as sunglasses when they turn dark and are shiny. Hopefully they look as good when they turn clear. They only had a pair with the green tint on display at the store. I chose grey transitions instead of green. I guess when you add prescription you get more options.

I agree with you that the matte black does take the edge off a bit. I do see a benefit to the gloss where the camera blends in more. The gloss might look a little weird with a transition lens.

I like them both, I feel like the gloss version looks a bit cheaper? more like sunglasses than actual glass frames but it is really a personal opinion.

I regret not getting the gloss black. Matte black over time look terrible. Scratches and just hard to clean.

The green tint on the transitions is really good, not too dark like some sunglasses. I don't like dark sunglasses either and these ones are perfect.

I think the price is based more on what lenses are in the frames? As far as I know you can not get transition lenses in a Gloss frame? I had not seena Matt vs Gloss comparison either, kind of why I made it as I was looking for one...

@@AllSniperZ When I was looking it was not an option for me. I like the matte black ones, the gloss to me seems cheaper but they do look nice too. If you can, go to a Ray-Ban store and try on different sizes and colors.

@@getfitover40 I just went and looked at them in person, I am leaning towards the shiny ones... They're available right now in the medium size but I need the large and they don't have shiny in large atm so I am torn again lol
