What a simple, but amazing thought " comfortably and uncomfortably confused " !! Ray, you were an inspiration for me growing up ( I'm white ) , but also a bigger inspiration for one of my best friends ( who's black ) !! He stood in line and waited for the skate shop open to get your 1st pro model from Powell Peralta !! You're an amazing soul !! Thank you for being you !!

When I was a kid Barbee was my idol! I was like 10 or 11and everyday me and my buddies watched Public Domain and Ban This. I was Barbee because I'm a brown kid and he was Mariano. I became the best skater around because I emulated all of Barbees tricks. Parking block no complies, kick flips etc. I thought back on these days and looked up Barbee on Google to see how he's been. I'm glad to see he is blessed and doing well! Thanks for being you Ray Barbee

And btw fuck falling on cement at 41 lol, no but it's great and ya fuck cement lol. I forgot how great some tricks feel. I never got to see Barbee, saw Natas in like 98, unbelievable, you think Natas as kind of laid back, he hit everything at %110 percent it was sick.

It's 2/6/2020, I am a 45 year old man, I have grown and married children, after being off a board for 30 years this may sound ridiculous, but I felt led by the Lord to pick up a board again. Ive been at it three months now. Today i come across this, one of my skate idols not only thrashes here on Earth, but because of Jesus I will someday see Ray Barbie for myself tearing it up in the streets of gold! Our heavenly home! Ray was there doing promotion after the film .. he was cool as .. for kids like us these guys were just heros.. I loved his style ...but getting to actually meet and talk - even then he had a humbleness about him that certainly made an impression and kind of stuck with me .. this is great viewing, thanks Ray :-D

Ray what a trip. I remember Ray from highschool. He hasn't changed much at all it looks like. Most easy going guy ever. I hung with him a little. Skated in the old ralphs parking lot by his house with him once or twice. But what was more fun than the skating was the music he used to play with some guys I knew. They rented a storage unit in santa ana and played inside it for hours and hours. It was a trip just listening to the songs that were created. Glad to see Rays still jamming.

@Blackie BMW Motorwerks This isnt the place for a theological debate, but I would like for you to think on this and let it sit and percolate in your head a bit. Chuck Colson, who was President Nixons hatchetman, said that he and a room full of people couldnt stick to their guns and keep Watergate and their involvement a secret for 2 weeks, yet 11 of 12 of the Disciples of Christ and countless other disciples proclaimed the truth of Christ right up until the time they were beheaded or crucified after being stoned, flogged and tortured, I find it hard to believe that not one of them would save himself for a hoax or a "myth." Stew on that one for a bit.
