this story is from the book'The Martian Chronicles'. i remember the teacher reading out loud some of the book to my class in elementray school. The Martians trick them, i guess using some kind of mind control.

Yes, I have them all on cassette too =P. They were recently just re-released in high quality mp3 on the Twilight Zone radio website. I wish they still made radio programs like that.

read the book this is my favourite one. The Martians are trying to fool the astronauts into thinking that they are in heaven. In the third expedition there is reference to Beautiful dreamer and also an old Scottish Singer called Harry Launder singing 'Roaming in the Glomin'.

You would think that the Mars Mission landing team here would have some sort of common sense and intelligence. I do not profess to be the smartest man on the planet by any means. But if I was on a Martian Landing Team and dear old Grandma that died 13 years ago came up to me and tried to hug me I would think first off - HEY Martian Deception here!!!!! HELLO???
