Mr Campi was a substitute teacher at my middle school in LA in the 90s. He also loved not too far from me. Use to see him driving in a convertible Cadillac. He was the coolest and everyone looked forward to having a class subbed by Mr Campi

I had the pleasure of knowing this "rock 'n' roll wildman" during the last few years of his life. He was a quiet, well-mannered gentleman in real life. I miss him.

Thats the irony of it all. Since the mid? 80s Crazy Cavan have always "been" a Teddy Boy band, yet in their early years they dressed and played rockabilly, the uk "rockabilly revival" was spearheaded by them and friends in their home area of South Wales. Yet the oldskule Teds thought us "young" rockabillies were threats hence the troubles at weekenders like this one in 1979. Thankfully we're all older and wiser now !

What is with the back drops at 00.33. that's deffo northern soul dance moves and so is some of the footwork by the girls in full circle skirts spinning.
@RockinRedRover8 жыл бұрын
There was (and still is) quite a few people then who were into both scenes. First time I heard abt Northern Soul was from a lad in my home area, west Glostershire, who was a rockabilly like me, yet.. FWIW I hated mainstream pop "disco" at the time, still do, but have grown to appreciate proper 60s soul for its good songs and music.
@salliethomasthomas30304 жыл бұрын
lol...yes they are similar...BUT you will find Rock n roll / Rockabilly was before Northern Soul.....so who's copying who?...mmmmm
