The concert is incredible, thank you very much, from the fans around the world who can see this performance. The songs of the orchestra's introduction reminded me of the orchestras that I saw on my visit to Cuba in 1981, they had a similar atmosphere, the drummer's concentration on the first song demonstrates the professionalism of these great musicians. thanks very much.

Ray "the bridge" Charles the only artist to date that bridged - blues, jazz ,big band, gospel, soul, pop into one meal for the soul

Fine. So long as I don't have to start calling him "The Bridge." CHRIST that's awful!

We were enriched when we were graced with Ray Charles’ presence in this world. Since his departure, we have become poorer.

Hi Threse - just found this and you are right - your Dad is fabulous! I played drums for Ray 5 years later and heard from the guys about Ernie and how respected he was. You have much to be proud of! John Bryant.

Love the behind the scenes of Ray getting in the car and making his way to the stage. What a cool cat. The opulence is overwhelming.

I wished i was there - it seems to be one of Ray's best performances as a soloist as well as interacting with the most inspired big band!

You would enjoy Ray’s performance at the Jazz Jamboree 1984 in Poland, available on YT elsewhere. His rendition of ‘Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?’ is showstopping

Absolutely stunning readings of those two songs, @ezio droppo. The way Ray dictates those lentissimo tempos and builds the dynamics is a work of genius.

Legendary. Nothing more to say except you seldom see Ray Charles- you bear witness. Incredible show. He was through inventing genres and writing songs that have long become standards by 1969, and instead focused on reinventing others' material as only Ray knew how to do. His voice only got better as time went on, and the late 60s and early 70s he was in as fine form vocally as he'd ever be. Thanks for reading and uploading.
