We went to Ray's 1st concert live in Tucson in late1987. He came on stage on time. Then played and sang for 21 minutes. He then stood up and his handler walked him off the stage. There was a full house of 3,550 people. We assumed he would be right back. Nope, he was done.

Ray Charles or as he preferred to be called “Brother Ray” was such an amazing music legend. His music came from his heart and soul. He was also such a womanizer. He fathered 12 children from 10 different women. The word on the set was if you want to become a Raelett, you have to let Ray. Lol. Of course he wanted his heart to be unchained so he can get ready for the next chain. R. I. P. Brother Ray.

From the 1964 film 'Ballad in Blue'. From the film's description: Ray Charles stars as himself in this heartwarming story of a blind American musician (Charles) who befriends a young blind boy (Piers Bishop) in London struggling with his disability and with a vigilantly overprotective mother (Mary Peach). Can the music star teach the child - and his family - how to heal? Featuring such iconic Ray Charles tracks as "Let the Good Times Roll," "What'd I Say," "Unchain My Heart," "Hit the Road Jack" and "I Gotta Woman," BALLAD IN BLUE is an uplifting classic drama that is not to be missed.
