This song is fantastic -The Beatles used to play this song in Hamburg in their set - they would even stretch it into a one hour jam

Every once in a while, the Good Lord sends a Ray Charles into the world - someone who can change the times by opening hearts with his music. Ray's gift may never be matched in all of time - he was a channel of cosmic soul cascading down from the heavens. We love and adore you, Ray!

I've seen a bunch of different clips of Ray doing What'd I Say, and this one is to me the most energetic and powerful version. He and the band are on fire! Amazing!

This Ray Charles at his very best. And that's sayin' alot. A music expert, named Frank Sinatra, once said that Ray is the only real genius in our business. That too is sayin; something.

I was so lucky to see Ray Charles play at the Hilton in Reno when I was a teenager. He made all the trains in Reno change their schedule for his appearance, because he didn't want his music meddled with choo-choo trains. He is an idol...love you Ray.

This was great, I have been researching "was chopin the greatest pianist?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Poneyton Introductory Preeminence - (do a google search ) ? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to master the piano without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my colleague got amazing results with it.

I remember watching an interview with Paul McCartney, and he said when this song came out he couldn't stop playing it. He said any time this song came on or he played it he felt like a million bucks. Well, listening to it right now I feel like a million bucks! Infectious beat, bright and lively melody with tons of blues and R&B feel to it, sexy lyrics and that classic call and answer with the Raylettes on the coda..... if you don't feel great after listening to this song check your pulse!

You obviously don't have much of an ear for music. Not only is Ray Charles probably the greatest singer of our lifetime, he also has perfect pitch. The only person i've ever heard who could scream in key. A once in a lifetime talent.

We didn't even have subs but a set of Pioneer HPM-100s could shake down the house with rock or do a nice accurate job with classical music. Four ways with a tweeter, a super tweeter, a 4 inch mid-range and a 12 inch woofer. The frequency range was 30 to 25,000 Hz with sensitivity of 92.5 dB/W (at 1m distance). Some speakers today do better but many well regarded high range speakers do not. Mine got me through college and beyond. I wish I still had them.

This is "Gospel Blues" genre taken from a whole tradition of music that was used in African-American churches. See the movie on Ray Charles to understand the connection and the way church pastors were angry that their music was going to the pop charts.

The music industry is no longer about music. It is about product and brand and what can be tied up in a nice homogenous little package. Every so often, some real musicians and songwriters get through, but the number seems to be getting smaller every year.

Your running commentary is funny. It must have been exciting for musicians to sit-in with Ray Charles back then. His music was infectious. In fact all the black music from '40s-'60s took America by storm. Even acts like Ike & Tina Turner, not to mention James Brown. Those were exciting times musically. Sadly, those days are OVER. But, here's a Y/T video you might enjoy: Ray Charles & Oscar Peterson Play A Blues Duet - Very Rare. Shalom.
