He and his team are... amazing. So wonderful. If you want a quality instrument set up with care, Master Olaf should be on your list!

Strad violins are like museum pieces, Olaf (the violin maker) has said they aren’t necessarily better than well made modern violin, it’s just they have great historical value and limited supply. Truly it’s the musician, like Ray, that makes the music special. ❤️🎻 Olaf is a master violin maker, I would love to buy one of his violins once I’m ready. ☺️

This guy was carrying a historic piece of art that costs millions. Did he have guards travelling with him or something?
@mariusdufour91862 жыл бұрын
It's possible, but not particularly likely. Most people can't tell the worth of a violin, and even if they can, when you steal such a valuable violin, it becomes very hard to sell, unless you have a buyer lined up beforehand. In my city, a professional forgot their 100k violin on a park bench, and when they went back for it, it was gone. However, the people who stole it tried to sell it to a local Luthier for a couple thousand euros. That got him suspicious, so he checked if there hadn't been a report of a stolen violin of the make in question and bingo, violin returned to owner, thieves in custody. If you play with other musicians on such a valuable instrument (and you presumably don't have the budget for it), people are also going to notice, and all that needs to happen is for the wrong person to recognise the instrument and know it has been stolen, as they are all unique at that level, and a theft would be highly publicised within the community, especially the Luthiers. So, you'd also need a luthier who's not going to rat you out to get work done on it.

George Clooney would be the one to be honored to meet you. Celebrities are created. True talents are born..., and probably the 10 hours practice from age 3 helps also. I'm a great fan of Ray Chen, and if I had to choose to meet... Ray Chen definitely over any celebrity. OK. Maybe Keanu Reeves.
