Clara is a wonderful soloist and a very down to earth human. Whenever she smiled I smiled too! I enjoyed every second of this stream and I appreciate Ray so much for doing these streams.🧡🎻

I'm not super plugged into the classical world, so this is the 1st I've heard of Clara (even though I'm Korean American!). She's awesome! Incredible playing most of all, but also such a poised, humble, polite personality.

Weak Tchaikovsky competition weak 4th prize winner Clara Jumi Kang is not the greatest! Crazy world we are living when the crazy deaf people claiming weak Tchaikovsky 4th prize winner weak Clara Jumi Kang is the greatest! Ray Chen his Sibelius violin concerto video Chen claiming Sarah Chang is the best Sibelius player! Sarah Chang has colorless dry cold ugly violin sound! Ray Chen you can do better! We must do better!!

Wow, I'm so grateful to have discovered Ray and Tonic! Being a regular person, there are definitely times when I don't practice enough, but as long as I do, even when it doesn't go well, I'm happy that I'm playing the piano again. Thank you, great soloist Ray!

1:01:00 It's so true that music doesn't always have to be “dramatic” or “overly sad”... I've always played everything soooo emotionally and thought it was “musicality”, now I understand how music could be more natural and just reflect my own self.

Clara Jumi Kang and Ray Chen both played with an accompanist that is only a Cliburn Gold Medalist, Sunwoo Yekwon!

Her voice reminds me of the great violist Teng Li. It would be awesome if she came to your Rayview show. She is one of my favorite viola players.

Ray: thank you for talking about your struggle with tension while playing. That’s something I’ve always struggled with myself. I never realized that it was a big issue for others too. Story time: when I was 15, I was preparing some Mozart (K545) and ended up developing a stress injury in my left hand/wrist because of the amount of tension I had. It got so bad that I couldn’t play, couldn’t even carry my school books, and had to get physiotherapy. Mozart and I are not on speaking terms anymore 😢 (FYI piano is my instrument)

Wow, never thought that Clara has a short pinky. It always looks so long when she plays! But as she said, maybe it’s not the pinky who is too short, it’s just other fingers are too long😂

Oh no! :( I closed my studio literally a few seconds before you and Clara tried to drop in as I thought the feedback hour was already coming to an end - so sorry about that! Tried reopening as soon as I saw but just wasn't quick enough! Hope we can try again at the next one ;) Thanks for making these Masterclasses!
