@1995Pie you can use lure pod, a pod that, well, lures the monster to you, and you cam lure rey dau into a part of the map that is full of falling boulder traps, easily dealing 3 digit numbers and toppling it for a few seconds allowing for easy damage dealing, some people use this strategy to hunt the monster as quickly as possible since we are using starter level 1 weapons against high rank monsters (i suppose? i could be wrong) and get single digit hunt times (minute wise) but peppo managed to do so with his weapon alone, its so sick

@@ultra5051 I think it is a high rank monster, since Rey Dau drops materials that are usually seen in HR (for example, the + scales and gems), I wouldn't blame people doing this over a hunt where those rewards actually matter like in the full release, but for a beta? Cheese is boring.

I’ve been playing Monster Hunter for nearly a decade now, almost over half my life. Liking Rise and saying it had the better endgame (which it objectively did, since World’s is just Tempered Teo, Alatreon, and Fatalis) doesn’t mean I don’t love this series as a whole. Looks awesome. Unfortunately i cant olay because i dont have a PS and my PC doesnt havr a string enouh graphics card or something. But based on what ive seen, i love that LS is no longer completely predicated on counters anymore and is far more fluif with movement options, the fact the crimson slashes are actually good instead of just being thrown away for helm breaker everytime. The skaura slash thing being built into the kit itself. I very much like the direction this is going.

@@mkb144p6 huh? I wasn’t bashing on the players skill, this is obviously impressive as shitballs. I was just commenting that the optimal playstyle still relies on using counters to level gauge and using SHB whenever possible to maximize damage. When the weapon preview dropped we hoped it would be more centered around comboing different attacks together especially with the Red Gauge crimson slashes. Personally I’m not a big fan of this development for LS.

I hope the Crimson Slash combo will have a higher value with elemental LS. In this Beta you only have this rarity 1 raw LS, and the damage with crimson slashes is not great. SHB + SRS is currently the best DPS combo you have.

@VeldWolf When it comes to speedrunning, every weapon's best option is whatever burst damage attack it has. "Spamming" that move to get the fastest possible kill time is usually pretty difficult, which is why you'll really only ever see speedrunners doing it. The other moves are still useful in other situations, and most of us mere mortals are gonna be stuck looking for long openings to use SHB.
