Ray Franz (& David A & FF Bruce) "This generation" -- How far can the Watchtower stretch it?

Thank you, as always, for this. I am someone who got sucked in during the 80s. I was a teenager really wanting to find spiritual truths but also alone and vulnerable. Just 10 years after 1975 not ONE JW mentioned it to me. I feel lied to. People like myself, newly in, really believed the 80s hype that the 1914 generation would not pass away before etc, etc, It was all lies.

[David here] Hello again. All lies. It seems many ex-JWs, however, have learned to distrust EVERYBODY. Vivian was there in 1988-89. Blessedly, she got out of that phase and learned there are MANY trustworthy teachers. Just NOT in the 'Tower!

It was so funny during Gilead classes in 1994 they had gone thru all this with Br Glass and Redford. The Gilead students were considered mature enough to go thru the history of the organization. Lol almost 30 years ago…

Not our area of expertise, since we were gone before this "new light". I suppose it will have to be dealt with when we have done some research, with the help of "faders" and recently departed.

In regards to 1914 Ray Franz quotes Isaiah Chapter 28 and completely ignores this: . Isaiah 28:15 Because YOU men have said: “We have concluded a covenant with Death; and with She´ol we have effected a vision; . a covenant with Death . 1914: The generation that will not pass away . Millions Now Living Will Never Die . Now that would have been a strong argument for his book! . Did he not understand this? . Isaiah 28:19 and it must become nothing but a reason for quaking to make [others] understand what has been heard.” . . .

Schroeder was a mean dude. I witnessed him chiding members of the writing staff for not seeing things his way. They were very calm and reasonable while Schroeder was foaming at the mouth. Probably the members of the GB were too scared of Schroeder to bring forth an accusation against him.

I, for one, extremely appreciate your videos and have intense affection for you both. Ray was the best member of the GB because he displayed great affection for us foot soldiers at Bethel.
