Thank you for this beautiful song Ray, today 9.20.23. A month ago my younger brother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer and I was with him when the doctors said he had a four to six week window in which to live, ones of the hardest moments in a person's life to hear those words, the following day my brother and I were sharing stories of our childhood and loving memories of our Mom and how she made us laugh and always appreciated being outside with family and friends, my brother started to cry when heard this song for the first time, I said I was going to see Ray in Wallingford Connecticut, and he said please get Ray singing this song and play it for me, my brothers in the VA Hospital in West Haven. I will iPhone this song and play it for him after the show, the cancer has him in the final stages, but I promised him and I will play him this song that gave him peace in these final weeks. Thank you Ray, for writing songs that are truly meaningful to so many people.

You are so right, Marc. This track in particular made me cry. The lyrics remind me of my dad when my mom passed away. He said that the nights were the worst, and then to wake up alone was even more difficult. He is also gone now, and I still cry, especially with songs like this gem. Ray knows just how to tug at our heart strings.

The widower was in love with the widow. He was convinced she loved him as much as he loved her. He was looking to make a life together. She ultimately was looking for a way out. He went all Cortez and was setting fire to the ships. Instead, she was lighting a match to the bridge that connected them. It's been 8 months and he still wonders why. He grieved the loss of his lovely wife. He now grieves the loss of the lovely widow. He's been moving forward but now knows it's time to move on. It's time that he gets on that highway to the sun. Surely he'll find someone heading in the same direction.

Me and Ray share a similar story correct me if I'm wrong. He picked up a guitar quit his job on inspiration of another player "stills" I sold what I had for my guitar at 16, taught myself rays trouble album. I play ll the songs for freinds even played shows as a kid with his covers and inspiration. Now I have my first son he is 7 months old I am mid thirties and he is obsessed with guitar. See how the spark lives. He loves ray - narrow escape. I can't tell you what rays music has done for me.too much to describe. saw him on my 19th birthday alone cause all my friends we assholes. At Richards on Richards in Vancouver before they demolished the venue. Once in a lifetime
