Love this song. Ive seen him 13 times and Ive never seen him preform this. Hes definately evolving into his own sound and although we all love the old Ray, I respect the evolved Ray as well. My dearest album he made is god willing and the creek dont rise, for very personal reasons where I was at that point in my life. My best friend of 35 years, loved that album we saw him live for that album tour, then she passed away from cancer the same year ( at 48 years old) every song on that album makes me cry. Her favorites from that album was old before your time, and new york is killing me

wow. even though this is on old video, it was great. I've never seen him perform this song live. one time he started it but didnt finish. I know people evolve and change but I miss old Ray.

It may seem that Ray is cold, however, reading his life story helped me understand a possible reason for his persona. Our childhood shapes us and we do not always have control of that. He is a great musician and he said music saved his life.

Sometimes people have a lot on their minds and in their hearts and they just can't deal with social stuff in life. It's hard enough in a normal life sometimes, so if someone is a celebrity with strangers coming up to them like they know them, it can just get to be too much sometimes. The life of a celebrity is not normal, it's a weird life and it can all catch up sometimes. Don't take it personally.
