I don't think you quite understand, the water is so cold that any microorganisms are dormant or cannot survive. Its also notable that there isn't the same pollution from humans in these water systems because of the utmost respect the Swedish have for the environment. Any microorganisms present are dealt with in the gut, we have all means necessary to deal with those naturally occurring in clean water. Be aware that clean water doesn't mean sterile water but this isn't such a bad thing. Oftentimes people don't realise that a lot of microorganisms that are present in the environment are not in any way harmful, we have drifted away from a way of living where we aren't in fear of every other living thing. Of course if you aren't sure of a water source its always a good idea to boil your water and shouldn't be substituted for a guessing game. Atb.

@@neilmckay7586 better to buy a bottle of water from a nearby shop of you don't want to risk dying

@@readmycomment3157Poor water in these types of scenario rarely kills the person, it's likely to make you quite sick though. I think you've misunderstood the risk. If you prefer bottled water go ahead just as long as you aren't the kind to leave a plastic bottle where you went. Because quite frankly that's disgusting.

@@neilmckay7586 sometimes you have no choice to leave the odd bottle around as there is no refuse disposal there. It probably rots down soon enough though.

@@readmycomment3157 No I don't believe there's ever a scenario to leave it behind. A good rule is if you packed it in then you have no reason not to pack it out. There is no excuse because the weight is dramatically reduced to barely anything when you drink the water. Nor does it rot down soon enough, if you come back to that spot 20 years later it will still be there as intact as ever, that is if an animal or rain water hasn't carried it away. There's a reason our oceans are filled with plastic bottles, they have to come from somewhere. Namely, people like you by the sounds of things.
