For the last few years I’ve been watching you guys react to music you’ve never heard before, but that I had grown up with. As a kid I grew up in the burbs, played guitar, and listened to a lot of hard rock and heavy-metal. I really enjoy watching you guys get turned on to groups like Metallica, Alice N Chains, Pink Floyd, etc. There are quite a few old school hip hop outfits alike Public Enemy, a tribe called Quest, Eric B and Rakim, Dr. Dre, Biggy, etc. that I enjoy to this day as well, but to be honest, I haven’t listened to much new rap in a long time. Most of what I hear nowadays on the radio just doesn’t do it for me because it sounds so formulaic and cookie cutter most of the time, and it doesn’t seem like they’re really saying anything. But this cat is different. It was a joy watching you two dissect this man’s verses, comment on his flow, and educate me on music that I enjoy but don’t know that much about. I can’t wait to watch more of your hip hop reactions and get turned onto more new talent. Thanks for all you do. Sub for life.

I don’t know if someone already commented this but there is a deeper meaning to the “I used to live in color now I just be in beige” line. It is about staying out of the bullshit but is a literal reference to trying to leave the gang life. The streets are ran by colors bloods/crips just to mention the most obvious. So living in color was a reference to his gang affiliation, living in beige is him taking a step back from that life. What a legend

I took that buying lunch for the reaper line a different way. When you're with your coworkers or friends a nice gesture or thing you would do is buy them lunch, and they owe you a freebie later. Usually when you buy someone lunch you're there talking with them and asking them about their life catching up with them making small talk etc. In Vons case the people that he would probably buy lunch for would more than likely be shooters, robbers and Killers or murderers for hire- and he's offering to buy them lunch as a peace offering just so he can converse with them and see who would be next to be robbed shot or killed, and making sure that it's not him

Great Channel: Awesome Ray Vaughn: Here's my rap [VERSE:1] Throughout my childhood, I had my back again the wall; so, I had to stand tall. My paw was a drunk. He drank too much alcohol Still a toddler, at age 5, My dad beat me with a belt into I bawled. Then he burnt with a hot iron until my skin was scaled But that’s not all. My dad liked fighting. A mad man, he was always getting into a brawl One night he came home really drunk and angry. I was so terrified, my skin began to crawl I could tell, was looking for someone to maul. So, he punched me the eyes till I couldn’t see at all. Then, threw me around like a rag doll and slammed my head against the concrete wall. And left me for dead inside a dirty bathroom stall. On 9/11 they made the Emergency Call. I had severe injuries: I had a broken jaw. Welts on my back and arms like I had been cut by a saw Whip marks all over my body made it look like I had been bear’d clawed My skin was ripped off my flesh leaving me boney raw. The hospital staff was appalled at what they saw I had a concussion; so, I had no total recall Being I was so small, the doctors said I barely survived; --- it was a close call. [VERSE:2] My dad went to jail on domestic battery, child abuse, and physical assault. A hard life is what I was taught; always behind the 8 -ball, dodging shots, doing summersaults Thieving or slinging; I was always trying not to get caught. Emotionally, shame, blame, hate, and anger, I felt were all my fault. I was inflicted with agonizing pain, so they rubbed it in, like sea salt. I was fraught with distraught. Self-destruction is what I sought. A gun and some ammo are what I bought. Put the gun to my head and pulled the trigger. It was suicidal, I thought. I fought back, defeated the demons, and won what I bought I locked the misery away inside my vault and ended the suffering by bringing this sh*t to a halt. [Verse: 3] However, my mom then became addicted to crack and cocaine. She tried to make our family money by being a prostitute on the ghetto’s walk of fame. I was ashamed of what she became but I still loved her all the same. One night she was killed; a burn-out flame. What a shame, nobody will remember her name. Her cremated dead body is all that remains; I felt she ghosted me, but her memory haunts my brain. I almost lost it and went insane, I had nothing loose; so, there’s nothing to gain. My nightmares were real, seeing junkies, like my mom, in my bed shooting heroin into their veins Watching addicts as they tried to abstain from the drugs, but withdrawal symptoms like nausea and vomiting, depression, and mood swings: I literally felt their pain I came from a broken home: See, I got a picture of me contained inside in an A-frame
