I don´t understand why no saftey bars for squats like the bench has.. Accidents happends and ligaments does break sometimes, and if he gets stuck even for a split second under 1000 pounds before the spotters even realise what just happened its career over and if he gets stuck in a very bad "angle" then migth be worse than that. Isn´t it better to have saftey bars below paralell just in case?
@louisastuto557
@louisastuto557 7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, can't believe he even attempted over 1K under those conditions. 10 spotters can't do anything with 1050 on the bar.
@ClearSmoke100
@ClearSmoke100 7 жыл бұрын
Louis Astuto very true I was squating the other day 410 for 3x3 and that day it just felt weird as I was coming up got stuck had to dump the weights. no way in he'll would I except a spotter to catch that since it happened so quick. outta the 3 lifts squats is the one you want the safety bar the most in my opinion.
@combinemax
@combinemax 7 жыл бұрын
nobody benches 1000. probably safety bars won't hold up to that amount of impact
@itiswhatisis8174

Im not talking about literally the same type of safety bars. Different ones are used for squats or in some cases slings etc.

the record is 1075 so yes they do, proper safety bars will take a ridiculous amount of punishment

I'm willing to bet that Ray, who did 865 at this meet, could do 100-150 lb more with the Elephant bar. It's a lot harder to deadlift on a 7 foot stiff powerlifting bar.

The man is awesome, no problem with the wt. or the depth. Personally I think he could go even higher if he didn't stand there so long after he is setup. That amount of weight has to take a little bit out of you. The rule about lifting your head on the bench is stupid personally. My traps and neck were huge when I powerlifter and I had trouble keeping my head on the bench. I had one head judge ask me if I needed any velcro, LOL.

once ray starts squating 500 they really need to get a monolift ot some kind of saftey bars the spotters aint gonna catch it if somthing goes wrong

Finger Mustache inc old school powerlifters were the best bodybuilders. In fact you had to lift until the 50s I believe and it was part of your score. Look at Larry wheels dan green and Kevin oak. All look like bodybuilders of old. Who all went heavy often.
@Fettman07
@Fettman07 7 жыл бұрын
He would be nothing if he lost all his body mass. It takes weight to move weight, you can be jacked and strong but never as strong as the heavier version of yourself, up to a limit obviously if he got too heavy it would become a hinderance..

I don't understand why they even bother testing. Every world class powerlifter takes PED's. The only logical reason would be making people believe that powerlifters are drug free and natural,since many people actually believe it.
@PowerliftingbyFred
@PowerliftingbyFred 7 жыл бұрын
I couldn't disagree with you more. I've been competing in USAPL (formerly known as ADFPA) since 1989. I've been masters national champion 14 times and IPF world champion, and I have NEVER taken PEDs. USAPL does REAL drug testing. I've been out of meet tested several times, as well as in meet. Have there been some cheaters in USAPL? Yes, but the authentic and consistent testing discourages most cheaters, and I could name a few USAPL lifters who have been caught and received lifetime suspensions--but this is a few out of many thousands.

BALDLY MARTYN FIT_BIKELIFE1990 your opinion is not relevant since power lifting federations have their own criteria. also the rest pause makes it much harder because you cant use elastic energy, you basically just have to power it up. having 500 pounds sitting on your chest without bouncing it is much harder than just tapping your chest and springing the weight back up
