I'd say Ray Wylie Hubbard is one of the Poet Laureates of Texas , he tells a story in every song. Thank you Ray

This just never gets old no matter how many times I listen to it. To anyone that ever has a chance to see RWH live...do it. He is a Texas treasure and he has yet to ever disappoint!

We called it Ma Blues. I lived on Ross Ave.in 1970. Greatest place to party in the 70's. Wildest time of my life. Saw Freddie King up close 3 times..Thank you Ray Willie !!!

Mother Blues was the Place to be in the 70's. Everything about this song is true about Ma Blues. I saw Freddie King. Lighting Hopkins

I've been to Mother Blues a few times in my distant past, but for me at the time I preferred The Cellar downtown Dallas. I too attended W. H. Adamson high school in Oak Cliff, and the old school had a soul, and sometimes I can yet hear the clatter between classes that could be put to music and inspire. Few schools have a history more profound. Ray Wylie I never met him but we both walked the same stairs, just different years.

Mother Blues was a scary Rocky and roll bar in Dallas in the 70s. I was only 16 when I first went. Wished I went again. Love RWH.

I was born in Azle, Texas in 1955 and my dad went to all the bars on Jacksboro Hwy, from Azle, all the way into Ft. Worth, till the late 60's. I believe he spoke about seeing Ray Wylie Hubbard somewhere along the way out there. From about 5 years old to 10, my mom would make my dad take me with him to try and keep him on the straight and narrow...it didn't work.
