An older song that Amy loved. When Halestorm and Evanescence first toured together, Amy sang this with Lzzy. During lockdown, Amy came on one of Lzzy's streams remotely, and they sang this with Lzzy on keyboards. They decided to make it official and record this duet.

If you want to continue your Lzzy "train" with hearing her sing softly (and very beautifully), I recommend you listen to "Song of women", where she sings with The Hu. it is incredible !

When Amy showed up for this recording, she did not realize Lzzy wanted to do it together live. The blend you hear is as they are. I heard them perform this live, and it was stunning.

Halestorm grew up a few miles away from where I went to college in PA, so they would randomly be on the local radio station during a "new local bands" segment they had. It's cool to see how popular they have become since then. (this was like 2009+)

I first discovered the magic of Lzzy and Amy singing this together when I saw a live recording of Amy joining Lzzy on stage at an outdoor festival. This studio recording many years later is next level!

Lzzy is incredible in her own right, but when Amy joined in it literally brings tears to my eyes every time.🥲❤️
@ssvr3dl1n3811 ай бұрын
Great reaction, thank you. The one thing that most reactors don't point out with this is that when Amy joins Lzzy the first time for the chorus she sings a key under Lzzy, then when they do the chorus together for the second time, Amy flips up to sing a key above Lzzy. It makes the song so much more dynamic and sounds awesome.

@08:57 - HELL YEAH! If I didn't know better I'd say they were kindred spirits! Amy is a bit lower in the Alto range than Lzzy but they can both sing in the same range and that ability to change among each other the levels in the harmony, with each providing their own tamber? THAT is what makes this song so AMAZING!

This song really caught me off guard I love lzzy's hard rocking vocals. 🔥I was shocked how beautiful Lzzy sang this song and having the incredible Amy Lee dancing all over her vocals with those beautiful harmonies was stunning. 🔥Thanks for reacting to this beautiful song. 🤘🔥

What's amazing about this is this is Amy's song and she's just like, "No you take the song" She's not intimidated, she doesn't need to try to match Lizzy's power (like who could). Amy realized she could make Lizzy sound BETTER and that's the touch of a true artist who knows who she's working with. Incredible.
@kevenbridges943311 ай бұрын
This song sounds like it is being sung to a lover. But it is a song Lzzy wrote to her fans. It is about how she feels being on stage and the connection she feels with the fans. Thus the line " Hold your lighters in the air and bring me back home" I see some great suggestions below for softer Lzzy Hale songs. So I would like to add The HU ft. Lzzy Hale - Song of woman I see you have done a reaction to the HU. But believe me this is a different side of them. They also have another softer song with the singer LP called Mother Nature. Just pick the version that says ft, LP as there is a version without. Both of these songs are epic.

Their new record, "Back from the Dead", has a song called "Raise Your Horns". it is absolutely gorgeous and might be my favorite slow song of theirs, rising above even this and Familiar Taste of Poison! The Warning toured with Halestorm and Lizzy went on stage and gifted Dany from The Warning a guitar with Dany’s specks. Lizzy in several interviews praised The Warning. You need to do more of The Warning and more of Halestorm, and try Nemophila.

Well outside of America, peanut butter and jelly (jam) do not go together, so not sure thats a good analogy 🤣 Secondly, please give Sophie Lloyd a listen. UK guitarist who has just released her debut album full of guest vocalists and musicians. You could start with Imposter Syndrome which features Lzzy Hale, then move to Runaway with Michael Starr ... then go from there.
@jasonlaviolette296411 ай бұрын
Well, outside of America, they all have absolutely no taste for one of the best pairings in the history of the universe 🤣 Talking about fantastic pairings... these two beautiful souls and the power and emotion that comes through in their voices had me in tears from the get-go. I'm definitely going to have to look into Sophie Lloyd. I always love me some good guitar, and an artist debuting an album full of guest musicians and vocalists sounds immensely intriguing. To have the confidence in your own abilities and yet knowing that you can't do it all on your own, and bring in other various talents to make your work that much better sounds pretty damn cool.
@caphowdy66611 ай бұрын
@@jasonlaviolette2964 You mean outside America they have actual taste. Tried it once and it was absolutely rank. Two things that really really do not belong together. Just like pineapple on pizza.
@jasonlaviolette296411 ай бұрын
@@caphowdy666 Has to be jelly, not jam or preserves, and it has to be grape. Also have to get the ratios of peanut butter and jelly correct, and definitely peanut butter on both slices of bread. There is an art to the PB & J sandwich 🤣 I'll agree with you on the pineapple pizza. Fruit doesn't belong on pizza. For me, neither do vegetables. Just give me lots of meats on my pizza! lol
