I am an army vet with 2.5 years deployed in the middle east. Amazingly enough never got hurt over there. Came back home ended up working construction. In '09 I had a work accident and fell 3 stories most of my lower body had to be reconstructed and suffered a brain and spine injury. My family was told i probably wouldnt walk again and due to the amount and location of the brain injury, I had a high probability of living with the cognitive ability of a 12 y/o. My persoality took thi all as a challange as I had a child and girlfriend I needed to provide for. In the years sense we have gotten married, I was walking within 3 months and activated my Gi Bill earning a BS in cybersecurity and took my income from the low 40k to the mid 100k range. I seem to thrive on adversity because evry time something tries to knock me down I rebound better. Disturbed is a group I listened to alot during my rehabilitation.

10 years ago I went through a neurosurgery ! My doctor had to remove muscle tissue from my face , and then cut out a section of my skull , they had to do this remove a tumor mass that was 8cm in diameter and compressing my brain almost to a point of nearly breaking my brains connection to the brain stem ! For a while post surgery I couldn’t take the way people would stare at me ! Parents teaching there kids , telling them I’m not a human being. Rude remarks toward the scar and missing muscle tissue. Thankfully I’ve come to terms and well ignorance is bliss

I can Relate to David he talks about Suicide awareness alot. I personally lost 3 friends to Suicide 2 by their Guns over relationships and 1 by Drinking. I can't believe I'm living the rest of my 2/3 of my life without those wonderful people.

I have an inner respect and hatred at the same for Disturbed. It's so meaningful and logical, and at the same time unrealistic. It's so very hard to relate to anything because it's so hauntingly beautiful without much soul put into lyrics. I like this song, it's just not something I'd say is beautiful (awkward laugh). My darkest memories say kill, repeat, and enter the endless path of self destruction, unwilling to die, wishing death would knock. Send me to valhalla; honorably.
