My mom loves Ray Charles, but she always had Nat King Cole records. I walked into an antique store and the owner was playing her Ray Charles vinyl record,it had GEORGIA ON MY MIND on it. I was hooked. I asked her if it was possibly for sale. Of course she said no. But I went out and bought some of his CD'S. Some people sing from their head, and some sing from the heart, but Ray sings to your soul.

A song for you has been recorded by 200 different music artists . Ray does a fine job here . But i think the best cover was done by Donny Hathaway . Hathaway is popularly known for his two hit single duos with Roberta Flack ."Where Is the Love" and "The Closer I Get to You and other collaborations with Flack . He did much singing, song writing , arranging and composing for other artists and released some solo albums . Tragically , he took his own life " as often lovers do" in January 1979 . He was only 33 years old . he is sincerely and sadly missed

I remember when we were together! París 1990, Palais des congres, in the second part of a beneficent show against sida. We were alone, in this magic touch of music you give to the night, and you sang this song and so much more, and more and more. It was endless as like you knew your lost brother was here listening to you and in this encounter you've given it all (a sad story i didn't know at this time). 31 years and the same old thrills every time i ear you singing this song !
