Yes she was held back by Polydor for many years, but at least they partied ways on pretty good terms and they did whish her all the best. She got to keep the songs she didn't get to release with them like Escapism., with the music industry the way it is, they could have made it hard for her to keep the stuff she wrote under Polydor.

@@emc7056 What I said was: the album or song has to be successful in the US charts, meaning, inside the overall categories like Album of the Year, for example, Raye's album My 21st Century Blues has to be received by the American population and critics like SOS, Endless Summer Vocation, Midnights, The Age of Pleasure, and others. Her album only peaked at 58 in the 200 Billboard Charts, so it is kinda understandable why her album wasn't nominated, as Album of the Year. The requirements to be nominated for a category on the Grammys are interesting, I must say. Sorry if I got lost in translation, my English is not very advanced.
