The label didn't want to release the debut album she is talking about here which she won 6 brit awards making history. She decided to leave the label and become independent. @@Lizwindsor her debut album has been out for almost two years. Much like with Adele and Amy Winehouse, the US was not as quick to jump on Raye’s train. She was restrained within her record deal, you should probably look into the story to inform yourself. Nowhere did I blame the US for anything.

raye has always been outspoken about the unfair discrepancies between the payments for record labels VS producers/writers. i recommend watching her other interviews to get a more in depth understanding of royalty rates. it’s so unfair. it’s the same reason beyoncé credits and pays EVERYONE, including dead folks, the estates of artists, everyone from an interpolation, etc.
