“Live north at Sea jazz festival“. That’s the one where Raye sang this song better than any other time.

I get so excited every time I watch a live performance by Raye. Just think about it. We’re at the very beginning of the rising of a generational talent, a true one name artist. People will be saying Raye’s name for generations and we were here at the beginning

Definitely Rayes performance at the Montreux Jazz festival was better for me for a number of reasons ie( the crowd, the backdrop. Then lets talk about the timing she lets the beautiful james Brown music shine through then just plays with it like a cat with a ball of wool absolutely nailed it.

I prefer the one at the “live north at see jazz festival 2024”. That was the best performance of all time of any song.

Hey my friend, I'm happy you're back with more RAYE. I already loved your previous ones, but I thought those were way to few, as you really seemed to be enjoying her and realize how great she is, so I asked myself "Why the heck doesn't he do more, he knows how good she is...?" I assumed it was because of views, the broad public especially in the US still has no idea and far more people should be listening to her, watch reactions and demand more... But then, on the other hand, from your other reactions as well, I had the impression you're ot only doing it for the money or to feed your ego, but because you genuinely love music, at least that's how you came across to me and why I really enjoy your reactions, you really feel it and it shows in your mimics, your whole body language, it's beautiful to watch... - So please, for the sake of real art, and for our mutual pleasure, do more reactions to her... Go on her channel, have a look at her videos, especially in the 'albums' section, pick anything that seems of interest to you, she always delivers 11 out of 10, especially live, so it doesn't really matter which song you choose, she's always more than amazing. In my humble opinion we didn't have an artist of that caliber since the days of Nina Simone, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and last but not least Amy may she rest in peace... I'm literally obsessed with her and will be here for your reactions to any songs of hers... As I said, it doesn't really matter to which song you'll react next (and you will get recommendations in the other comments...), but I still have a suggestion for a video I think you would enjoy VERY much to watch, and no one else might mention it - Even for me, who has been thoroughly searching for anything RAYE for almost half a year now on a daily basis, it took me until last week to discover this: - I remember you already reacted to "Escapism", about a year ago, might have been your first ever RAYE reaction. You might listen to that song again (on your own, just to have it present again...) and then watch a video on The Rolling Stone magazine official channel, it's a feature about how she actually made that song, so you will get a lot of her talking, explaining, demonstrating, background, production, but in between also her improvising on the keys and vocals. The video is very well done and I really think you would love to get more insight into her creative process and personality off stage. It's longer than a song, but not too long for a reaction video (actually I discovered it on another reaction channel, a kid from Canada...) and I really would love to watch your reaction to that one... If you want more music in it, the actual song, you might even do both in one video... I don't mind you've heard it (just as in this case...), and it's been more than a year, and there are enough people out there who have not heard it yet, and of course you'd get more out of the Rolling Stone video if you're really familiar with the song. In this case you should go with the official MV again, as she mentions that one and refers to it musically in the second video... You might still do a separate reaction to a live version later on, e.g. the one from Montreux Jazz Festival August 2024 (on her channel), because she's even better live, and always switches it up, with her you almost get a new song every time she performs one, even if she's sung a song with the same title before, it will be different the next time... Great reaction man! Peace and love from BavaRAYEa!

Wow, thank you so much firstly for supporting me and the channel if you've been here since last year - really appreciate it! Thanks for watching AND for taking the time to write such an informative comment! I definitely do my channel because it's a labour of love - music, films, amazing TV shows and anime/ animation! I now do this full time (something you love, makes it feel like it isn't work, right? lol) But, because I am growing my channel, I do have to pay attention as to what might help me do that whilst also balancing what you guys ask me to react to AND what I actually want to see myself lol... precarious balancing act at the best of times! But artists like RAYE and many, many amazing people I've discovered via this space, I will always make time for - eventually! Just juggling many plates and it's just me to do all of my editing so it can take longer than even I want to at times! Hope that helps to answer your question and I think the next RAYE reaction I do will be your suggestion, as a thank you! Thanks again! 😁❤️

@@Room2703Reacts Much appreciate the time you took to make yourself clear as well, just have to smile because you explaining all of your struggle with meeting all of the demands including your own in regard of your channel has me think of another RAYE original, a wonderful song with the title "Hard Out Here"... eventually you might get around to that one as well, it's on her mind blowing debut album just like Escapism. I recommend you seriously to consider a full album review, quite a few reactors have done that already, and it really makes sense as it is one great body of art, all of the songs' themes are interconnected and are telling a story, her story, channelled into pure art, so it really makes sense and doubles the pleasure to listen to the songs in order and back to back. And it's well worth your time, this debut has been the most exciting one in ages, vocally, lyrically, artistically... Anyway, that Rolling Stone feature next in combination with the actual MV of Escapism would be fire, and I would very much appreciate you doing that whenever the time is right for you! Peace out!

She did this cover better at Montreux Jazz Festival. It's on youtube and her full show is uploaded by her. It's better there and her core band is there. The bass and keys persons were different and I think it slightly affected the performance. Still very good. Just not as good as she has done before.

The Montreux version is wonderful as well, as is the North Sea Jazz version, or the Pukkelpop version, she never sings a song the same way twice, that's one thing that makes her so fascinating... If our host is smart he will listen to anything by RAYE he can get his hands on, but he may not be able to do all of that on his channel in public... I agree with you that she feels more at home at the Montreux stage, with the Swiss branch of her family watching, and with her core musicians like Matt Brooke on the drums, Liv on bass and Pauli on guitar, yet her vocal delivery was flawless here as well, and she did not do that 20 sec. belt with runs up and down the scales and everybody's spines which she did here at Montreux, and that is certainly a thing to enjoy, that's why I love any of her performances, she always brings a new surprise... Actually she said that she was not completely satisfied with all of her choices at Montreux (but still is very proud of it...), so I suppose she tried to do what she wanted to do in her newer performance, and the next one will be even better, when she has her musical family with her on stage again... This woman will not stop developing any time soon... Jm5c ...Peace out!

@@Hundhammer yeah, raye is always great! I think it was just a combination of performing for the amas with other big name artists, not having Liv(bass) Dani (keys) and the fact they might not have given her as much time. This version is 4 min while the montreux is 7. Yeah, I read her instagram post about it. A true musician, they are always hardest on themselves while we basically love every performance. Btw I always love to see your comments on raye reaction vids.

@@poolhallshark A Year? So you discovered her before I did, and you didn't tell me about her? You're disappointing me buddy, keeping all of the good stuff for yourself! Remenber: Sharing is caring! - Just kidding, but you might have actually watched his first reaction to her before I did after discovering RAYE half a year ago... and it may not have clicked with you instantly, so it took me to really put you onto her? Anyway, have a great evening and enjoy it!
